I have too many talented creator friends struggling to get their channels off the ground and it upsets me. Things like luck, trends and algorithmic forces beyond one's control play a much larger role in success online than they should. I work hard on my content but I also caught a break by making the right video at the right time in 2007. Upload consistency is important not only for building an audience but also maximizing the chance of getting lucky, though that can be extremely difficult when constantly met with low views in spite of sheer effort input. Views are not a measure of quality and there's a demand for quality, it's a question of the means of reach in a vast and merciless competition for a finite amount of attention in which so many creators with talent or none cave to employing bullshit methods, shortcuts and grifting to stand out and make things so much harder for the people with something to offer who want to earn an audience fairly. If content creation's your calling don't give up!
