If I’m honest, I probably would have danced on Lindsey Graham’s grave 20 years ago, when I defined myself as “antiwar.” But today I have a measured respect for him. I now understand that neoconservativism is one of the handful of ideologies capable of maintaining the world order and taking responsibility for America’s power. I’ve come to appreciate this, not so much through Trump’s actions as president, as through critically examining all those “antiwar” geopolitical ideologies that formed on the Right and among America’s enemies, which I might have been sympathetic to years ago. Here are two cheers for Lindsey! You were on the wrong side of things so often, but on the right side when it mattered for Europe. You were a man.

Watching some MAGA accounts cheer for Norway and Haaland is absolute cinema.🎦 🇳🇴
They seem to see a 6’5” blond Viking and assume he’s some kind of ideological soulmate.
Meanwhile, Norway is one of the strongest examples of a successful social democracy in the world, and Haaland has publicly supported anti-racism campaigns throughout his career.
It’s another reminder that people often project their own politics onto athletes instead of paying attention to who they actually are. And it’s ridiculous, funny and shocking a bit, but not much at the same time.

If Abdul El-Sayed beats Stevens I actually think he's very likely to be the next president. I suspect he'll trounce the Republican. His criticisms of Dem elites will appeal to those who liked Bernie & Trump. And if he wins MI he'll silence centrists & be ideal Dem 2028 contender.
