When you call someone to your how's to repair/replace something you are paying for the convenience of not having to do it yourself. With plumbing you are paying for their experience, tools, gas, insurance on the vehicle, contractors insurance ( this is so you can sue them when the flood out your house or blow it up). Not to mention the plumbers pay, 30-50 pr hour. With a water heater the contractor is obligated to pull a permit which is usually 100 to 350. Plumbers have continuing ed classed every year that attend and pay for. You sir are judging a trade you know nothing about. Good luck with your plumbing. I also hope you never have a slab leak.

Water heater died last night. 5 yrs old, still under warranty. Called Manufacturer, they said they'd send parts, but that'd be 4-6 days. Couldn't leave my family without hot water that long. So I called local repair company, they'd been there 5 minutes when they quoted me $1,100 to fix it. Wouldn't break it down to parts and labor until I leaned on them hard. - $300 parts - $800 labor For 30-40 minutes of work. For a water heater that cost me $700 with sales tax. I called the manufacturer back and told them the situation and that I planned on buying a new unit at The Home Depot and install it myself (I'd installed my current one). Rheem said no problem, take your old one with you and we'll give you full credit towards your new one. With the military discount from my buddy that was helping me, I was out of pocket a whole $65 when it was all said and done, and even traded up a model with a longer warranty. Thank you Rheem, thank you Home Depot. Fuck off predatory appliance repair companies.

It’s whoever runs the Oklahoma employee health plan, that hired the PBM, that ripped off everyone involved, including Kent All they had to do was add @costplusdrugs to their pharmacy network and this never would have happened. OKlahoma is one of the states that is figuring out who the crooks are. It for some reason, like so many other states, hires big PBMs and carriers that do shit like this over and over. Stop hiring these companies just because they are big.

Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A. If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

Now I’m going to flip it. Tricare has the VA pharma contract. @ewarren tried to get a copy of their contract, with pricing to the taxpayer. They won’t provide it. She has done a good job trying to get to the bottom of their pricing. They refuse. I’d be willing to bet the President a dollar, they wouldn’t give a copy of the complete tricare contract, with pricing, to him. The big PBMs, and insurance companies that own them , don’t care what the President thinks and they are not afraid of him or HHS. They are Too Big To Care. I testified that for many generics, the @costplusdrugs price is less than the tricare, off base co-pay (and that’s before the unknown price the charge taxpayers for the drugs) When those drugs get on TrumpRx, it will save service members on their medications Bigger picture, it shows the insanity of our healthcare economics.

TrumpRx is not a scam. Is it perfect ? No. That would require them to add all @costplusdrugs meds ! They have done a great job on IVF and GLP1s. If it allows a couple to afford to grow their family or to afford the GLP1 they need, it’s a win.
