The biggest mistake X made was taking away the value of followers
Your content used to be distributed to your followers regardless of the "quality"
Now it gets graded on time spent, engagement, etc
And if it doesn't perform well within the first batch of people, the post will get nuked even if you have hundreds of thousands of followers
I can't tell you how many people I used to see on my timeline that I don't see anymore
And it's because the algo didn't view their content as optimized enough to surface to more people
But I never followed the person because their content was optimized, I followed because I liked what the person had to say

The reason this four year cycle top for Bitcoin "feels different" is because this is the first major top BTC has had during a late business cycle environment.
It explains why there was no alt season, why BTC has been bleeding to SPX, and why SPX has been bleeding to Gold.
We got a glimpse of this type of environment in 2019 but then the pandemic causes a crisis which reset the business cycle. It also happened during the middle of a four year cycle for BTC, rather than at the end of one.
This cycle has been more brutal because there has not been a crisis to allow the business cycle to end and for things to reset.
So the business cycle keeps on limping along while high risk assets continue to bleed out to lower risk assets.
And realistically we should not expect that trend to change until the business cycle ends.

Niche creators who post about something like clothing or Lego and have cult followings but live in south east Asia now get next to no revenue.
OSINT accounts which are some of the most valuable resources on this site and viewed globally, now get tanked in revenue.
This is an utterly daft decision for your global town square.
Why wouldn’t you only apply this to political content? Or use sentiment analysis targeting ragebait?
Huge blow for a lot of really valuable creators out there who reach global audiences on non-geo specific content.
