With respect, this is Boomer-coded nonsense.
“So yes, I succeeded. I worked hard in school, and after graduation I routinely worked 12 to 16 hours a day for years.”
As if Millennials or Gen X didn’t do that? We did. We just weren’t rewarded for it.
Boomers pulled the ladder up behind them.
You weren’t exceptional. You were early. That’s it. Facts over feelings.
Your generation benefited from a system that was still intact: affordable college, livable wages, stable housing markets, and domestic job security. We entered the workforce with six-figure debt, inflated living costs, and a corporate system obsessed with cost-cutting and labor arbitrage.
You didn’t face a pipeline of H-1Bs replacing you before your first promotion. You didn’t watch your dream job vanish while being told to “grab a wrench.”
Blaming “big corporations” without acknowledging the policies that enabled them is dishonest. Crony capitalism didn’t just happen; it was legalized, subsidized, and promoted by your generation in power.
No, we don’t hate Boomers. But we’re also not going to pretend they didn’t run the table while the rest of us got scraps.
We’re not pretending Millennials didn’t screw up too. We own the damage from the Obama progressive era. But we’re honest about it. Just like we understand where Gen Z’s rage is coming from.
Ask yourself this; from Gen X to Gen Z, when we look at who has controlled Congress for the last 40 years, do we see ourselves or do we see you?
Exactly. That’s what we call perspective.
This isn’t just about generational tension. It’s a full-blown collapse : economic, cultural, and institutional. The American middle class has been gutted, the cost of living is unsustainable, and the political class is bought.
And now, after all that, we’re being told to unite and “aim higher” by the same people who helped build the machine that’s now crushing us.
Sorry, but unity starts with accountability.
Not lectures and revisionist history. Own it.
