@fax_alternate @LemmeReact Written by a White European guy. About fictional White Europeans. Not 68 IQ mudhut dwellers and spear chuckers. Go click and whistle your own stories and/or paint them on cave walls either giraffe blood. You’re not a part of ours.

@Cherwithyu @salefish1 @nypost Well so we can agree that the dumb bitch should have been crapping on public schools, not homeschool, right? Because public schools are by all metrics ass.

@HoldenVCaul @salefish1 @nypost This ….. is nothing. If anything it looks like you’re advocating for private school, not homeschooling. Even the writer says the results aren’t definitive

@HoldenVCaul @salefish1 @nypost This appears to be from someone’s college research essay, not a primary source and the citations are from 30+ years ago. Keep scrolling google until you find better justification

@HoldenVCaul @reshoftroy @inspiredzone @nypost I went to a private school, public before highschool They had less money so they had less educational tools and I suspect the teachers were paid less Regardless the education was way above public schools The teachers were able to teach their way and more parent engagement

@ourfoxsopwrfl @Tommy_USA @nypost …but since they’re learning at home, and being taught by parents, one would think they’re using fewer resources. And the numbers (money spent per student in homeschool v public school) bear this out. So this explanation doesn’t seem adequate.

@inspiredzone @salefish1 @nypost You’re literally just making things up. Either way, all things equal, homeschooling is clearly superior to having fat teacher union lesbians instructing your little urchins.

@HoldenVCaul @salefish1 @nypost That study is just homeschooled kids who take the ACT and intend to go to college. There are so many religious homeschool families who don’t teach their children math or science and think higher education is evil that this study isn’t measuring

@ashiiirg @salefish1 @nypost So I disagree with the assumption that modalities have meaningfully changed. But even if public schooling underwent significant change, it’s not for the better, because public school scores have further decreased over the last decade, so the difference would be even starker.

@HoldenVCaul @salefish1 @nypost Because the modalities of education both in classroom and homeschooling have shifted fairly dramatically over the past two decades, and while the names are the same, assuming 1:1 continued alignment to outcomes when methodology shifts doesn’t really hold does it?

@Tommy_USA @nypost Homeschooled people income profile is closer to those who go to private schools instead of public, so basically being homeschooled leads to underperformance from their income baseline.
