@MurderofBirds_ use the download chat feature in the program to download to json. it works with highlights or anything really. then at a later time you can use the chat render function on the json

@Holgast Thanks! How would I go about downloading Twitch chats to overlay them at a later point? I have all of my videos recorded locally, so I'd like to have Twitch chat for certain overlays when they go to YT.

Years worth of organizing, saving, archiving, and thinking of my VOD watchers is now gone because this company thinks less than 0.5% isn't worth considering. Goodbye to some of my Twitch chat's best moments too. Now I have another thing to stress over for the next two months.

What's interesting is that it looks like AWS stores data for anywhere from 0.001 to 0.005 dollars per GB.
Even if you have like 2,200 hours of stream, and assuming each hour is about 2 GB, it looks like it costs about $4.40 to $22.00 a month to store.

If, by their metrics, only 0.5% of streamers are storing VODs, then will this really reduce costs enough to save them? I don’t see how. If they’re dead, they’re dead. No need to delete 12 years of my life’s work in 2 months. At least give me the year to download it.

@TwitchSupport This is actually really upsetting because I have YEARS worth of VODs that my mod so kindly highlighted and sorted into playlists for me. Yeah we can upload the VODs to YouTube but this makes it much harder and way more stressful??? This is a terrible idea.
