@aronpingdsouza @TrungTPhan 100% agree that the system is broken when the Olympics doesn’t pay the athletes. The $1m prize for breaking a world record is the one thing international athletics should borrow from the enhanced games. This was a great idea. 👏👏👏

Enhanced Games founder Aron D’Souza went on Rogan in 2024 and made this pitch for why he was doing the event: “I learned some key statistics: 44% of Olympians admit to using banned or performance-enhancing drugs [in 2023] according to research commissioned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).  Then, I learned that the average American Olympian only earns $30,000 a year and I thought to myself there’s something really wrong in the system...The International Olympic Committee (IOC) doesn’t pay any of the athletes. Incidentally, they may get some money in sponsorship or from their national Olympic Committee. Ultimately, billions of dollars come into the Olympics and none of that goes to the athletes. It gets wasted building stadiums. It gets wasted paying officials. We thought there’s a way to do a better and more honest model that inspires us to believe in the future of science and technology in the 21st century.”

Enhanced Games athlete in photo is James “The Missile” Magnussen. Australian swimmer with an Olympic silver medal. Said he’d “juice to the gills” if offered $1m to break 50m freestyle record of 20.88. Enhanced Games agreed. This vid of him is most viewed on its YouTube channel and top comment is incredible: “you can see his back from his front”. Absolute tank. 6’6 and will weigh ~250lbs for the swim. For the inaugural Enhanced Games this weekend, Magnussen will also wear a full-body polyurethane super swimming suit that was banned after 2008 Beijing Olympics (he’s been training and doping at a facility in LV).

The @enhanced_games last Saturday were not only a spectacular event - they were also a major business success. $ENHA just announced that the inaugural Games secured more than $32 million in aggregate sponsorship deal value across its commercial partner ecosystem. This is already more than the company’s full-year 2026 sports revenue guidance of $31 million. And we still have 7 months left in the year. @enhanced_games Worse. Slower. Weaker. The games as entertainment was an obviously failed idea from the start. Any real sports fan could have told them. As a promo for selling PEDs it was an hilarious fail. The clean athletes won. What idiots let clean athletes participate?

The games needed a WR at all costs to keep their investors happy. They lost $500m (50%) of their value. The organisation wanted it and so they faked it.

I have a weird ask. Want to buy an old pair of the original Brooks Launch (20yrs old) can be MorW prefer smaller as they’ll be easier to put in a case. I will obviously have them cleaned. I have bricks from building that the shoe was named after and want to do something special.

@Jmarsh017 @UKRunChat They are not designed for that pace. They are a race shoe designed for a certain foot strike that happens with a form that happens when you run fast. Get a decent pair of daily trainers. Go to a running store and get advice to find the right shoe for your feet.
