@keiblob Apparently it’s the speaker saying “What a day”, but I think I prefer your version.

After the recent news that Scotland increased sentencing powers for animal cruelty, England is falling behind. We hope the Government listen to @LukePollard and raise the maximum penalty to 5 years as a matter of urgency.
Luke Pollard MP@LukePollard

The lockdown is leading to an increase in animal cruelty. I challenged the Govt to bring forward the bill to increase prison sentences for those convicted of animal cruelty. They responded by pushing it back by a month. Do they not understand what’s happening or do they not care?

I’m worried that the lockdown has led to more incidents of animal cruelty. Thats why I’m asking Ministers to accelerate increasing prison sentences for animal cruelty from 6 months to 5 years.
League Against Cruel Sports@LeagueACS

.@LukePollard has today called for the government to take action on animal cruelty, with fears that there has been a spike due to the #lockdown. Last year the League & @RSPCA led a delegation of 10 other animal welfare organisations to Number 10 to call for #TougherSentences.

The lockdown is leading to an increase in the numbers of animals kept as pets being abused. It’s time to increase prison sentences for animal cruelty from 6 months to 5 years. Lockdown is reason to accelerate not slow down this campaign

Great sentiment but... and this may well put me in the Tower... i didn’t think it was that well written. I couldn’t do better but the “we’ll meet again line” is for a bygone time.

Today, the ban of third party sales of puppies and kittens finally comes into force in England. This new legislation will help protect pets from puppy farms and unscrupulous breeders. #thirdpartypuppysales

A group of antiques dealers are looking to overturn the UK #IvoryAct, one of toughest ivory bans in the world, at The Court of Appeal on Monday 24 February. We are hopeful that The Court rejects their case and we can offer elephants the protection they deserve.
