But if you watch this clip — which, again, is one of many similar rants — one obvious question comes to mind: How could anyone view Benjamin as a "sharp-witted" analyst of "the complexities of the human condition"?

Illegal immigration costs the average American taxpayer about seventy thousand dollars over their lifetime. Here in Idaho, just a few years ago, it was already costing our state roughly four hundred million dollars annually and that was before the recent surge. Our schools are overwhelmed with large numbers of illegal immigrant children, forcing teachers to spend more time with students who don't speak English and less time with Idaho's own kids. Beyond that, Idaho taxpayers are also footing the bill for increased policing, corrections, and healthcare costs. Hospitals and clinics are strained by uncompensated care for people who aren't supposed to be here, driving up healthcare costs for everyone. Meanwhile, our own communities are getting less service, paying higher taxes, and facing longer wait times. On top of all that, many of these workers are paid below-standard wages, working long hours, while sending most of their earnings back to the cartels to repay smuggling debts. That money directly fuels more violence, drug trafficking, and cartel activity that reaches all the way into Idaho. This situation is costing our state dearly, yet government continues to grow and tax citizens more. It's time to end it and start putting Idaho citizens first.
