This was going to be my last post of the day. But I have to make a comment here. Sully postgame blamed Russell Sandefer for not going deeper into the ballgame. Only going 4 2/3. I can not disagree with him any stronger. (Guess he ain’t coming on the show again lol) Anyways below is the 5th inning. Between the error to start the inning from Surowiec and the slow turn on the double play and subsequent high throw from Kurland(which does not go down as an error) by the time Sandefer gives up his FIRST hit of the game, he’s being asked to get FIVE outs because of this defense. Indeed Russell should’ve been zipping on Gatorade with a no hitter going into the 6th inning. With a pitch count making you feel good about him going into the 7th inning. Gonna hope it was to soon after the game and an opportunity to further reflect wasn’t there yet, but Sandefer had a fantastic day on the mound.

@GatorDiamondPod It is impossible to play this sport not knowing if another at bat will come. I even think he homered at Georgia last year. And was an end of the year all star in the Northwoods league as well. 9th inning at bats are a set up.

@GatorDiamondPod And on top of that, the one game he played against number 17 Miami this year, he was 1-2, with a walk and an rbi. So, I think there is a sample that he has played already at this level. Every player needs a bit of a runway. (2 of 3)

@pdizzlefoshiz @Adamsp523 @GatorDiamondPod WORSE! Someone just pulled a number out of their hind side for at bats. His last 10 PA have been productive! His last 10 PA he has a OBP of .500 and a batting average of .200 which seems to be right along with the team today.

Auburn is down 3 of their better bats right now. Florida has 12 more outs to make up this 2 run deficit. If they don’t come back in this game it would be a very big wasted opportunity.

If Florida doesn’t change their approach at the plate , this game is pretty much over. Sanders is basically a starter for them, he can easily go the rest of the game. So it’s either change your approach, quick, or time to look ahead to the rubber match.
