*PROF. ALI AHMAD HONOURS SENATOR GBEMISOLA SARAKI ON HER BIRTHDAY* Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. @HonAliAhmad, has extended heartfelt and resounding birthday felicitations to Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki, an illustrious daughter of Kwara State and an exceptional stateswoman, as she celebrates another remarkable milestone today, May 3rd. Prof. Ahmad extolled Senator Saraki as a shining embodiment of excellence in public service, noting that her distinguished journey—as a former member of the House of Representatives, a respected Senator of the Federal Republic, and a former Minister who served diligently in two strategic federal ministries—speaks volumes of her unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s advancement and democratic consolidation. “Senator Gbemisola Saraki stands tall as a beacon of purposeful leadership and exemplary public accountability,” Prof. Ahmad remarked. “Her enduring devotion to national service, her composed yet firm leadership disposition, and her relentless advocacy for the empowerment of women and youth continue to ignite hope and inspire admiration across political divides.” He further applauded her remarkable legacy—one that, though anchored in a revered political heritage, has been distinctly shaped by her personal brilliance, proven competence, and steadfast dedication to sustainable development. “As she marks this significant occasion, I join countless Nigerians of goodwill in wishing her robust health, divine guidance, and even greater accomplishments in her continued service to our dear nation,” Prof. Ahmad added. Prof. Ahmad concluded with prayers for renewed vitality and greater heights for the celebrant. “May the years ahead usher in greater strength, profound wisdom, and boundless opportunities for her to further leave an indelible mark on society. May her legacy flourish as a radiant symbol of integrity, service, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s progress.” Signed: Sa’ad Ayinde Media Assistant, Prof. Ali Ahmad, Former Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly © @bukolasaraki @ToyinSaraki @abubakarbaraje2 @TunjiMoronfoye @babaidris090

… For our market women and traders who have been displaced from their homes, shops, and places of business without viable alternatives, this must be addressed. Yes, government may relocate markets, but it is essential that proper and suitable alternatives are provided before any displacement takes place. This is not new. Previous administrations successfully relocated traders from Post Office to Kulende, and from Ago to Ita-Amo, ensuring continuity of business activities. It has been done before, and it can be done again and better. Our government is committed to reviewing this situation and creating safe, accessible, and well-equipped environments where market women and traders can thrive, sustain their businesses, and support their families. Market women and traders will be adequately supported and protected under our leadership. I am Prof. Ali Ahmad

PROF. ALI AHMAD CELEBRATES WORKERS ON THE OCCASION OF WORKERS’ DAY “The strength of any nation lies in the dedication and productivity of its workforce.” Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. @HonAliAhmad, warmly felicitates with Nigerian workers on the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day, emphasizing that they remain the engine of growth and the foundation upon which sustainable development is built across the state and the nation. Nigerian workers, across the public and private sectors, remain the driving force of governance, economic stability, and societal progress. Their resilience, diligence, and sense of duty continue to sustain institutions and services, even in the face of mounting challenges. Prof. Ahmad noted that the present economic realities have placed unprecedented strain on workers, significantly affecting their productivity and welfare. He observed that the rising cost of transportation and living has forced many workers to adopt coping mechanisms, including the implementation of duty rosters in several government offices, where employees now report to work only on selected days of the week due to financial constraints. Reflecting on the situation, Prof. Ahmad stated, “It is deeply concerning that many of our dedicated workers, who should be fully engaged in driving governance and development, are now compelled to ration their presence at work because of the high cost of transportation. This reality calls for urgent and thoughtful intervention.” He further expressed concern over the growing insecurity across different parts of the country, noting that the alarming trend has also placed Kwara State on a high index of safety challenges. He made particular reference to Kwara North and Kwara South as the regions most affected within the state. According to him, the persistent threats of banditry and violent attacks have created unsafe working conditions, endangering lives, disrupting livelihoods, and significantly weakening the morale of workers striving to carry out their duties under increasingly uncertain circumstances. “Many workers today carry out their responsibilities under fear and uncertainty. The threat to life in certain areas has made the simple act of going to work a daily risk. This is unacceptable and demands decisive action to ensure the safety and protection of all citizens,” he added. Prof. Ahmad emphasized that workers deserve not just commendation but concrete policies that prioritize their welfare, including improved remuneration, safer working environments, and economic policies that ease the burden of daily living. He commended the perseverance and patriotism of Nigerian workers, describing them as the backbone of the nation whose sacrifices must never be taken for granted. “As we celebrate Workers’ Day, we honour not just the labour of our people, but their courage, endurance, and unwavering commitment to nation-building. Their struggles are seen, their voices must be heard, and their welfare must remain a top priority,” Prof. Ahmad remarked. He concluded by praying for improved conditions for workers and a future where their efforts are matched with dignity, security, and prosperity. “Today, we celebrate the strength and spirit of our workforce. May their labour never be in vain, and may our nation rise to meet their expectations with fairness, justice, and opportunity for all.” Signed: Sa’ad Ayinde Media Assistant to Prof. Ali Ahmad Former Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly © @bukolasaraki @ToyinSaraki @abubakarbaraje2 @Kwara_PDP @AbolajiAda54700

The other day, I was a guest on Ben Uwabor’s One on One podcast session, where I spoke about key issues affecting our state. One of the major problems with the administration of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is its lack of TRANSPARENCY. This is a government that, in my view, operates without openness and accountability. A truly responsive government should never resort to sending thugs after its own citizens, especially when they are peacefully protesting against insecurity in their communities. The safety and voices of the people must always be respected. If I am elected and given the mandate, I will ensure that anyone convicted of terrorism or banditry is effectively prosecuted and punished according to the law. By taking firm and lawful action, we can significantly reduce the insecurity that has plagued our people in Kwara State. Power to the People PDP is the Answer!

Your Royal Highness, Mai Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, With deep respect and sincere admiration, I extend to Your Royal Highness my heartfelt felicitations on the auspicious occasion of your 86th birthday. This milestone is more than a celebration of age; it is a profound tribute to a life of exemplary leadership, dignity, and unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the cultural heritage of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large. Your Royal Highness remains a symbol of wisdom, restraint, and noble stewardship. Your journey from an illustrious jurist of the Court of Appeal to the revered throne of the Emir of Ilorin reflects a life defined by discipline, intellect, and divine grace. Since your ascension in 1995, and in your distinguished role as Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, your reign has continued to serve as a stabilizing force not only for Ilorin Emirate but for the entire traditional institution across Kwara State. Through wisdom, patience, and quiet strength, you have upheld harmony among traditions while guiding leadership with dignity and balance. In moments of tension and in seasons of calm, your voice has remained one of reason, your presence a source of reassurance, and your leadership a unifying anchor for peace and collective progress. At 86, Your Royal Highness stands as a bridge between generations, a custodian of heritage, and a father figure to the entire Ilorin Emirate. Your leadership continues to inspire confidence within the Emirate Council and among the people of Ilorin Emirate as a whole. I also extend warm congratulations to the entire Emirate Council and the good people of Ilorin Emirate on this remarkable occasion, as they celebrate a monarch whose reign has remained a blessing to all. I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants Your Royal Highness continued good health, strength, and divine protection. May your days be long, peaceful, and ever more rewarding, and may your reign continue to bring honour and stability to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria. Please accept, Your Royal Highness, the assurances of my highest esteem and loyal regards.

PRESS STATEMENT REOPENING THE OFFA CASE: A DANGEROUS POLITICAL DISTRACTION- Prof. Ali Ahmad I am deeply concerned by the recent statements and actions of the Kwara State Government and the APC structure regarding the Offa incident, particularly the renewed attempt to link former leaders, including Bukola Saraki and former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, to the matter. This development is not only surprising but also profoundly troubling. There has been no indication of any fresh investigation or credible new evidence to justify the resurrection of allegations that were previously addressed and conclusively settled. What we are witnessing bears the clear imprint of political maneuvering rather than a genuine pursuit of justice. A responsible and responsive government must prioritize the welfare and security of its citizens—especially the victims and families affected by the tragic Offa incident. Delivering justice, providing meaningful support, and strengthening public safety should take precedence over actions that suggest political diversion and selective targeting. Kwarans are discerning and fully aware of the realities around them. There is a growing sense of dissatisfaction with the current direction of governance, as many perceive an increasing disconnect between leadership priorities and the real needs of the people. It is important to restate that at the time the matter originally arose, both Senator Bukola Saraki and former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed were duly cleared by the Attorney General and competent courts of law. Any attempt to reopen settled issues without new and compelling evidence risks eroding public confidence in our institutions and the rule of law. Kwara State deserves leadership that is focused, fair, and genuinely committed to progress—not one driven by political vendettas or distractions. Today, I join the good people of Kwara South, the PDP family, and our leader, Bukola Saraki, in remembering our late brother, political associate, and dear friend, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim Adebayo, on the occasion of his second-year remembrance. Senator Rafiu was loved and respected by all. He served his country, his people, and the party with dedication and sincerity. He was truly a friend to everyone who crossed his path. May Almighty God continue to grant his soul eternal rest and give strength and comfort to the family he left behind.

Yesterday in Ilorin, I had the distinct honor of joining the good people of ALANAMU Vanguard, who graciously recognized my contributions and unwavering commitment to grassroots connection and sustained engagement with our communities. During the event, I called on all Kwarans to remain steadfast and focused on the collective task of building a better, more prosperous Kwara beyond 2027. The future of our state requires purposeful, capable, and experienced leadership, leadership that will restore public trust, ensure effective and transparent governance, promote inclusiveness, and genuinely reflect the aspirations of our people across every segment of society. Today, more than ever, the need for credible and people-oriented leadership is clear. Our great party, the PDP, stands as the only formidable opposition with the structure, vision, and capacity to challenge the current administration and deliver the quality governance that Kwarans truly deserve. With unity, determination, and the support of the people, we remain optimistic. Insha Allah, victory shall be ours in 2027.

Yesterday, in the company of the State Working Committee, fellow aspirants, party faithful, and numerous well-meaning citizens of Kwara State, we gathered in Offa for the Kwara South Post-Convention PDP Mega Rally. The remarkable turnout and the warm reception from the people of Offa clearly reflect a growing desire for purposeful leadership and a collective aspiration for a transition of governance in 2027. It is evident that Kwara State stands at a critical juncture. The need to make informed and deliberate choices has never been more important. Now is the time to chart a new course and bring an end to the cycle of experimental leadership witnessed over the past seven years. I therefore urge all citizens of Kwara State to take an active role in shaping the future of our state by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards, participating in the electoral process, and safeguarding the integrity of their votes. Kwara State belongs to every one of us, and its progress must reflect the collective will and interest of all, not just a privileged few.
