WOW!! This is so well said, @iainblackbc. Thank you for standing by @PeterMilobar and Lianne, who is an absolute SAINT! This repeated pattern of behaviour has led me to move KFL to permanent fourth place on my ballot, just ahead of Yuri Fulmer.
Iain Black@iainblackbc

Dividing people based on race is how David Eby won last time. I believe we are all equal. When we defend our principles - equality for all - we can stand proud and demonstrate to British Columbians that we are ready to govern. I'm ready to defeat David Eby and the NDP. Let’s get B.C. back on track.

Today, I’m proud to stand alongside my friend of more than 20 years, the Honourable Yonah Martin, as she officially endorses me to become the next leader of the Conservative Party of BC and the next Premier of British Columbia. Yonah has spent decades serving Canadians with integrity, principle, and leadership. Her support means a great deal to me. We share a deep belief in servant leadership, and we both know that experience matters, especially at a time like this. I’m grateful for her confidence in the vision we’ve put forward, and in my Five-Point Premier’s Plan to get British Columbia Back on Track. If you’d like to learn more about my plan and how I will deliver real solutions for British Columbians please visit: iainblack.ca

💯 Bravo, and thank you to @PierrePoilievre and @CPC_HQ MP’s for this. I hope the government MP’s see the non-partisan wisdom in this and support it. Every step to restore B.C. as a destination for badly needed investment & job creation is a solid step, indeed. And good on them for calling out the B.C. NDP for deliberately giving government lawyers direction to withhold the crucial, and expected “extinguishment” legal argument when defending the interests of 5.7 million British Columbians. The NDP giving such direction is a betrayal of our citizens, and an utter abdication of responsibility.
Rob Shaw@RobShaw_BC

NEW - Federal @CPC_HQ have put a motion on the floor of the House of Commons to explicitly protect private property rights in all future FN agreements, and restore "extinguishment" legal argument in future Aboriginal title court cases, in the wake of the Cowichan decision.

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Expo, I was touched and humbled to receive a special email today; an endorsement from an elder statesman of BC, and an icon of Kamloops politics, itself. 18 years of distinguished service, serving under 4 premiers. A former Speaker of the Legislature. The minister responsible for Expo ‘86: the event that put B.C. on the global map and arguably paved the way for BC to credibly bid on the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. And a fine man, who “taught me the ropes” when I was the youngest MLA & youngest cabinet minister in Gordon Campbell’s government all those years ago. Thanks, Claude. His email follows. _______________________ I have been following the competition for the next leader of the BC Conservative Party very closely, and I have reached a clear conclusion. There is only one person truly qualified for the job: Iain Black. He has the knowledge, the experience, and the courage needed to bring British Columbia back to where it should be. It will take a strong and capable leader to clean up the mess left behind by the NDP. Anyone who takes the time to read Iain’s plan will see that he has addressed all the key issues. Government spending will be brought under control, an unnecessarily bloated cabinet will be reduced to what is essential, and there will be no more wasteful giveaways. I was in provincial government for many years, most of them at the cabinet table. When Iain joined us there, it was immediately clear to me that he had what it takes. The other candidates in the race are good and sincere people, I am sure, and they mean well—but the real question is whether they can deliver the results British Columbians need starting day one. Iain also has the character and acumen to navigate the province through future events we cannot foresee. This time, we must vote for the leader who can back up his promises with real action. Iain Black is that leader. His track record at the Vancouver Board of Trade, along with his many successes in the private sector, speaks for itself. I urge all Conservatives to take a close and serious look at Iain Black’s plan. I am confident that when you do, you will see—just as I have—that he is the leader we need at this critical time. Sincerely, Claude Richmond Ex Minister of Tourism (including Expo 86), Social Services and Housing, Forestry, Speaker of the Legislature, and ex-Minister of Unemployment and Income assistance.

Two days. That’s all that’s left to help decide the future of this race and the future of British Columbia. This isn’t a moment to sit back and watch. It’s a moment to step in. Every membership matters. Every single one. In a race like this, it comes down to who shows up and who brings others with them. I’ve said from day one: experience matters. This is not an entry-level job, and we cannot afford to get this wrong. But none of it matters unless you’re in. If you’ve been thinking about it, this is the time. Join today. Bring a friend. Make sure your voice is counted. conservativebc.ca/black/

‘British Columbia does not need a learning curve - it needs leadership” - James Moore I am honoured to have the endorsement of the Honourable James Moore and grateful for his expression of confidence in me. As a former senior Federal Conservative Cabinet James understands what this moment requires. As he said, ‘Iain Black has the right mix of experience in government and the private sector, and I do not believe being Premier of this province is a rookie job. Experience matters - and Iain Black is ready.’ James and I share a deep commitment to getting British Columbia back on track - and that’s exactly what I intend to do. It was great to attend the Moments of Hope Gala hosted by @AbbyHospice and it was wonderful to celebrate their 40 years of compassionate care in our community! It was also a pleasure to hear that they have reached their Holmberg House Hospice expansion project goal!

Let me assist in the clearing up the mystery: “Not me.” It is the obligation of the Opposition to hold the government to account. Given the current dysfunction created in B.C. by the NDP, “hold to account” = “bring them down”. I fully support our B.C. Conservative MLAs in fulfilling this solemn duty, regardless of how disruptive it might be on our internal contest to pick a new leader. The needs of our province are far more urgent. Our campaign's success in both selling memberships and raising money leaves little doubt that the broader population will support us in a General Election, to bring an end to DRIPA, SOGI, and get B.C. back on track. I will play whatever role is required (in a writ scenario) to propel our team into government. Bring them down.
Jas Johal@JasJohalBC

A certain BC Conservative leadership campaign is telling MLA's they should do everything to avoid an election over a DRIPA confidence vote. It's landing like a lead balloon with elected members. It reeks of arrogance. #bcpoli #vanpoli

When I am Premier, I will: 1. Bring a vote on the IHRA Definition of Antisemitism to the floor of the Legislative Assembly within the first 2 weeks of the next Legislative session – Either as the government or the Official Opposition. 2. Link Funding for BC Universities to Upholding the rights of their Jewish student body and all other religious groups acting peacefully. Require universities to enforce their code of conduct to protect students from bigotry and physical threats. 3. Immediately approve charges against Charlotte Kates and Samidoun as recommended by the Vancouver Police Department. Additionally, instruct the Attorney General to investigate other groups who have been actively partnering with Samidoun. 4. Adjust the mandatory Holocaust Education to be delivered in grade 8 and include an additional mandatory module about the evolution of antisemitism: From medieval to modern. 5. Provide additional funding to Jewish schools, places of worship and institutions to improve security, until the threat level comes down. 6. The creation of a Special Advisor on Jewish Community & Antisemitism. 7. Antisemitism training for law enforcement, politicians and public service employees. 8. Work with the Provincial Firearms Officer to ensure that licensed armed security can be employed to protect Jewish institutions. Together, we will get BC back on track - conservativebc.ca/black/

The World's Dumbest Tariff Has Been Revealed “Trump’s 50% tariff and removal of an exemption for Canada drove producers there to send US-bound shipments to Europe instead. In just a few months, Aluminerie Alouette – North America's largest smelter – saw its European sales rise from 4% of production to 57%. Rio Tinto Plc largely stopped shipping Canadian aluminum to the US, and even Alcoa diverted around 100,000 metric tons to non-US destinations.” bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…
