@WilloMCI @CanceloBall Well said and exactly what my thoughts are. Not only would the EPL lose a big player in many competitions, but the loss in revenue/sponsors and global audience alone would hurt the league. Undoubtedly there’d be years of appeals and lawyer tie-ups. Relegation just dont make sense

The idea of Manchester City actually being relegated doesn't feel real. Yet with the 115 alleged financial breaches still unresolved, and people suggesting a potential 40–60 point deduction, it’s something that cannot be ignored. If Man City were hit with a 50 point deduction this season, even with us title challenging, it wouldn't save us. We would drop into the bottom three and we would be preparing for Tuesday trips to Preston and Sheffield Wednesday. The Premier League without Manchester City is interesting. Without City, the title race opens up instantly. Arsenal, Liverpool, United, maybe even Aston Villa... all suddenly have clearer air. European spots become more accessible and on paper, it “levels” the competition. But this is also why I don’t think it’ll happen. Manchester City are one of the Premier League’s global pillars. Removing that pillar from the division damages broadcasting appeal, commercial value, and international reach. Big six clashes drive global audiences, those are premium fixtures and without them it wouldn't be good for the Premier League. Yes, enforcing rules restores integrity. And after Everton and Nottingham Forest were punished, consistency matters. But a punishment that removes one of the league’s biggest global draws? That impacts the product itself... financially and commercially and it would severely damage the league. That’s a major reason why I struggle to see relegation being the final outcome. However, if it did happen, the squad would obviously fracture. It’s hard to imagine Guardiola staying. His legacy is built on elite competition and being at the very top. So whether he stays or not is under question. Most of our players wouldn’t play Championship football. Haaland, Rodri, Ruben Dias, etc etc would all leave. The elite players in their prime won’t risk losing Champions League years. However, I do think there are some players that would stay. I genuinely think there’s a chance Phill Foden would stay. He’s homegrown, he understands the club’s identity and him leading a promotion charge could cement him as a club legend. Then you have the younger players such as Rico Lewis that would possible stay. You would have all the loanees return and potentially play with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Jack Grealish, and younger players that would benefit from guaranteed minutes. I could also see some veterans of the club staying as they are towards the later part of their career. John Stones? Nathan Ake? Kovacic? History shows big clubs can return stronger. But the reputational damage would linger. Titles would be debated forever and the narrative around the Pep Guardiola era would shift. Still, when you zoom out and consider the scale... the financial impact on the league, the global brand damage, the legal battles that would follow, relegation just feels like something that won't and cannot happen. It is possible, but I am just not convinced.

🚨🚨| NEW: Manchester City could face a penalty of 40-60 points deduction which would immediately relegate them from the Premier League if they are found guilty of the 115 FFP charges. 🤯❌ [@goal]

@Baz2486_ @Rory_Talks_Ball Facts. Most Arsenal fans don’t see past the surface. We’ve been so poor majority of our games and they are only 6 points ahead. Says a whole lot.

@Rory_Talks_Ball Rory, for once why don't you stop talking shit? You are going to win the league from set pieces and own goals at this rate, dull as fuck football and if City are 2nd and have been dreadful for most of the season, that says a lot about how poor the standard has been.

Compare Rodri’s weird referee conspiracy interview and Guardiola’s 5 year net spend rant With Arteta’s speech about the next 4 months and Rice’s interview about what this team can achieve For the first time, it feels like Man City are feeling the pressure more than Arsenal

@lukestanley03 Officials truly have been shocking and not even just for us. Even if the officials were wrong this game, we were poor 2nd half. We can blame the refereeing all we want but it doesn’t make up for how terrible we’ve been in the 2nd half recently.

Never that guy to moan about decisions, especially when we don’t deserve much after that second half, but the officials in this league are completely washed.

@mfc_mrpage At this point I think you just gotta stop. City isn’t up to par. Arsenal are very poor but we are even more poor from a playing standpoint. One of the worst title races Ive seen in a long time.

@GeronimoMorgans Foden has played almost as an 8 this season and it just doesn’t suit his skillset IMO. The closer to goal he plays, we typically see the better Foden.

I’ve never held back from giving my honest opinion on Foden when he’s not performing. Right now, what he does in the final third is setting us back rather than pushing us forward. Simplicity. Focus. Clinical edge. These are exactly what his game has lacked lately. After the Bodø/Glimt game, I said clearly: his recent performances warrant a place on the bench, not in the starting eleven. He has to fix this.

Foden’s been poor, seriously poor.

@radhoo12 As soon as Foden came on, we were flat and that was right before half. Doku and Cherki were the creators and when Doku came off it was just Cherki. Foden isn’t a creator

@tom_harrison95 That’s a hard one. Bernardo has been ol’ reliable and a backbone of our squad for nearly a decade. I think in time he’ll get one but there’s a few others in line ahead of him. KDB for example

@Meags_MCFC I dont think so either. I think he’ll definitely be a serviceable player but that injury seemingly stole his spark that he had prior. He’s missing something since he’s returned and it shows especially when Pep and his national team manager called him out.

@ErlingProp I assume we’ll see him lineup as a DM vs Gala. He held his own vs a physical New Castle and he’s definitely talented enough to play the position

@Hugo____Viana I’m 50/50 on this. There have been a lot of games where having Bernardo on has hurt us, but at the same time, if we sign a midfielder to replace him in the summer, there’s a lot they can learn from him. He may be an unc, but he’s been a cornerstone and a leader since he joined.

🚨🔵There is an internal discussion in place for Bernardo Silva to extend for +1 more year as Manchester City player and Captain. Pep Guardiola wants him to stay so does the management, depends on the player now. (Confirmed)
