@ClayTravis @HoosierHaze The taxes generated from gambling in my state goes to the “general fund”. In the past 25 years, I have not seen one single tangible thing that the money generated I’ve done to make life better in the state. The usages are always vague and difficult to track.

No online sports bets in Ohio is insane. Is it 1986? The result is twofold: 1. people will cross state lines to place sports bets, meaning tax dollars go to states that border Ohio instead of Ohio, or 2. even more people will go to offshores, which also crushes revenue.
Morgan Trau@MorganTrau

NOW: Ohio Republican lawmakers are introducing two different bills to overhaul the sports gaming/gambling system: - No online bets - Ban on in-game, prop and parlay bets - Limits wagers to $100 - No ads during games - No using credit cards to bet @WEWS @WCPO @OhioCapJournal

Scott Jennings just dropped a devastating dose of reality on Kamala Harris’ comms director Jamal Simmons. Simmons claimed the U.S. is not making any progress in Iran — Jennings FIRED BACK with a haymaker. SIMMONS: “We know that the regime is basically still in charge. We know that Iran is basically in charge of the chokehold in the Straits of Hormuz.” “It just doesn’t seem like we’re making any progress.” JENNINGS: “You don’t think destroying 13,000 military targets is progress?!” SIMMONS: “Other than destroying a bunch of targets that still have kept the regime in place.” JENNINGS: “What regime?” “The people that were in charge are...DEAD.” “There’s now new people and there’s been credible reporting that they’re having trouble even communicating with each other.” “I mean the person they say is in charge has never been seen in public. You’ve seen a cardboard cutout but that’s all we know.” “That doesn’t sound great to me!” That’s when former former Biden Staffer Sabrina Singh stepped in. SINGH: “It might not sound great, but the IRGC and the way they’re structured is so entrenched in the Iranian society that there’s not...a regime change hasn’t happened. A leadership change has happened.” Jennings ended it on the spot. JENNINGS: “They’re in such great shape that we had pilots on the ground in Iran for two days, and we sent hundreds of special forces in and rescued them, and the IRCG and nobody in the civilian population could seem to find or help them capture our guys!” “They’re not in great shape!” Narrative obliterated.

@SenWarren I’m not against it. But…. What happens when Bezos is no longer worth 222 billion because you’ve taxed him down but you still need 7 billion (or more) from him? Say he gets down to 175B but you need 7B to pay for your plans. Where do you get the money or % you need?

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion. If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over. And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

🚨 BREAKING: The most expensive spacecraft ever built.. $93 billion to get us back to the moon.. is being rotated toward the sun because the $30 million toilet vent froze and filled the capsule with the smell of frozen piss.. it’s 2026.. astronauts are peeing into backup bags because the high-tech plumbing on our return-to-the-moon mission needs sunlight to thaw.. apollo guys did this in 1969 with duct tape and a prayer.. we came back half a century later with a $30 million toilet that still can’t beat zero degrees.. they built an entire launch system over seven years.. spent more than the GDP of 100 countries.. and the mission is being run like a student housing maintenance request.. “can you turn the heat up.. the bathroom is frozen again.” nasa is fighting physics.. it’s also fighting a procurement machine that charges taxpayers $93 billion to deliver the same bathroom the apollo boys had when richard nixon was president.. this is the most expensive smell in human history.

JUST IN: The Artemis II toilet’s vent froze over, potentially causing the terrible smell astronauts reported. NASA is tilting the space ship toward the Sun to try & thaw it out.

Sources: TCU and coach Sonny Dykes have agreed to a new contract, which includes a multi-year extension. Dykes had been under contract through 2028 and his last listed salary is more than $7 million. TCU won more games (36) than any Big 12 program since 2022.

@ClayTravis 5 years of eligibility needs clarification. 1 RS year - but if injured there are no longer medial RS years? If so, that’s asinine. I’m good with the transfer rules, as long as they apply to coaches as well.

President Trump’s executive order on college sports is below. Three key provisions: 1. Five years of total eligibility 2. Only “one” free transfer without sitting. 3. No players can return from pros. Goes into effect on 8/1. Common sense & solid: whitehouse.gov/presidential-a…

@NickFriedell Cutting the season by 20 games will further explode ticket and concession prices. The game is already unwatchable and nearly unattendable. Not sure this fixes either - has the potential to make the later far worse.

The scores tonight in the league are embarrassing. Uncompetitive games all over the place. There are a lot of different issues for the NBA to fix — but I’m with Kerr on one point: Start by cutting down the number of regular season games.

This isn’t meant to come off as a knock to CE. I’m a Christian - and a basketball player. 90% of the NBA is openly Christian. What I find maddening in all this is Christians online twisting the story into “Ivey got waived because he is a Christian.” That’s just a false statement and you’re pushing drama even further. There are guys that proclaim their faith all over the NBA - it’s a shared faith. There are pre-game Chapel services in EVERY arena where guys come together to worship. There are post-game prayer communities that are visible to fans and cameras. This isn’t an intolerance issue by the NBA. Far from it. The league wants guys to proclaim what they believe. With that; You will be fired in ANY job where you become a workplace nightmare. If you continually disrupt the peace and happiness of your colleagues, you will be held accountable. It’s as simple as that.
