@TheRealMcKoy85 Well put. The Sell the Teamers are now just annoying. They had a point early on but what’s done is done. Also, they rarely point at the city of Oakland who has successfully lost every team they have ever had.

Getting real tired of listening to Oakland A’s fans badmouth Sacramento, as if we are responsible for the A’s leaving Oakland. I understand your frustation, but thats not our problem. Sacramento is trying to get a team and that really has nothing to do with Oakland.

@cdittmore @OaklandRooted The other being Dodger park built in 1962. Not really a precedent for demanding self funded ballparks. They are clearly the outlier, not the norm. Clearly local political leanings play a part in not approving public funds for stadiums in the Bay Area. It just is what it is…

Move on? How about no. I’m not going to quietly accept the destruction of a franchise that belonged in Oakland. The A’s belong in Oakland. This relocation was manufactured step by step by ownership and enabled by MLB leadership. John Fisher gutted the roster, alienated the fanbase, neglected the Coliseum, and constantly shifted the goalposts. Then Rob Manfred and MLB turned around and blamed the fans for the consequences of ownership’s own decisions. Oakland fans didn’t fail baseball. Baseball failed Oakland. And accountability matters. Community matters. History matters. Generations of fans matter. So no, we’re not “moving on.” Not while billionaires rewrite the narrative and try to pretend this was inevitable. This matters.

@theGenGiantsYT @ButcherBoy415 That’s a good take. I’ll watch Bull Durham before field of dreams as well lol. I still love Field, probably just watched it too many times in the 90s lmao

@HopeSickRaider @ButcherBoy415 I can say that Field of Dreams is a better movie, but I’m more willing to put on For Love of the Game and rewatch it, much more than I would with Field of Dreams. Kevin Costner sure had a knack for baseball movies. 🎥 🍿

As a baseball movie I have “42” in over moneyball - just my two cents - also o have Sandlot over bull Durham but both still in top 5 - I go back n Forth on order 1-2-3 but sandlot major league & field of dreams in any order my 1-2-3 a look so hard to leave Bad Bews Bears out imo

@RelvisResley @OaklandRooted Oh I’m very well aware of why my Raiders relocated. Another failure by Oakland. Chose the A’s over the Raiders and allowed them to sign that lease knowing full well what it would do to the Raiders stadium proposal. They bet on the A’s and then couldn’t close that deal either.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley Listen, I think we’re both clearly emotional about this subject and that is coming from a place of caring for our teams. We just blame different entities for why it happened. I don’t think Fisher is a good owner, can’t stand him. But I refuse to absolve the city for their failure

@HopeSickRaider @RelvisResley You know you’re lying and that’s not ok. Joe Lacob and the warriors were gifted the prime land in San Fransisco. There was no stopping them. Your comments showcase your biased opinion. Be well.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley Listen I hear ya, but other city’s are doing it to either make sure they retain their team or entice one to come. Either stand on what you believe and live with the results or accept that maybe perhaps it was a mistake in when looking back.

@HopeSickRaider @RelvisResley None of us are arguing that Oakland politics is pretty. I sure hope you stay out of politics given your lack of understanding surrounding public funds, especially for stadium subsidies. It’s a bad deal. It doesn’t make sense in Oakland, or anywhere.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley This disease has been infecting Oakland since the 80’s. Hence why the Raiders moved to LA. The city couldn’t figure out a way to keep all teams happy and have been trying to play one against the other for decades. I know the county had their part in this debacle as well earlier.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley Furthermore if Oakland was killing it with how they allocate there tax dollars I would actually have less of a problem with what transpired, but they aren’t! The city is terrible and the politicians are corrupt. And now we got no teams but still the same shitty city.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley I do strongly disagree with how the city handled all 3 sports franchises and yes I’m emotional about it because I have so many memories at both the arena and coliseum and I never agreed that the city shouldn’t help fund them build stadiums. In fact I predicted this would happen.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley Boom, there it is and this is why you have ZERO teams left in Oakland. Thank you for your honesty and I’m sorry your politics and politicians failed you. @RelvisResley this is why I referenced the public funding provided for the teams with poor attendance you listed.

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley I remember listening to countless mayors and local media repeating that statement for years and fans cheering it on lmao. Now they want to cry because the team left. And neither of you will answer the question whether or not you supported the decision to not public funds?

@OaklandRooted @RelvisResley But offered no real cash to build a stadium. The infrastructure money was also tied to massive low income housing attached to the project. For over a decade repeatedly said they will not give money to billionaires to build stadiums.
