Unfortunately, the collapse of Oslo and the Second Intifada completely destroyed the Israeli left, as even people on the Israeli left will tell you. They simply had no internal credibility after that. Which is a good metaphor for the whole problem: neither side has leaders with both the will and the internal credibility to make a deal. Not clear the Palestinians ever did, but Israel did, and now it doesn't.

If the Israeli center or left had stayed in power rather than Likud, October 7 never happens, the Gaza War also never happens, the Iran War probably doesn't happen, and Israel is still highly popular with Democrats.

"Medical errors are the 3rd leading cause of death" was implausible when it was first alleged, it was roundly debunked in short order, and it's been known to be false for years.
Yet it's still commonly repeated all the time.
