$490/ acre soybeans $700/ acre corn Used custom rates for all field operations, average cash rent for my area of Missouri, and today’s fall price for each respective crop. I need to beat our 10 year county yield average just to break even. Sure you could slash fertilizer, skimp on the chemical, and fool your self about true equipment costs. Maybe even some say rent is $0 if the land is owned free and clear, but why lie to make it prettier than it is? It’s ugly. I’m not excited for 2026.

@jvin248 @Zinkfarms 2 combines 4 heads 2 header trailers to move, 4 if you never lay your heads on tge ground for storage. twice the repair bill requires another good operator. More tracks across field no field storage since no cart. Having to back track with point rows to dump.....ill keep the cart

@Zinkfarms Every grain cart I see I think of the Brazilians with huge fields find it's odd the US uses carts. The cart+tractor investment buys another combine, same labor. They go down field to half-full, turn, combine to full as they reach the headland truck, unload= 189% faster harvest.

With the end insight I’ve learned, X9 combines are worth the money, track and long unload auger grain carts are a must, and old trucks are greater than new emissions trucks. Good truck drivers are an asset!

@CrackCattle Grease it, love it,maintain it, put the big horse on the front of it and it will eat. No grease no love no maintenance and it will crumble and be expensive. Our is the same unit the trucks get just 30yrs old and it will bring a 280hp 8950 to its knees and even stall at times

Alright kids, let's start a fight, reel mixer vs vertical. We've had multiple farm aids varying from a 340 to 680. Eye balling a vertical just for extra options and lower ground pressure. What's not to like

This is the fence line of one of our fields and varies from 2ft to atleast 6ft berm. Kinda wishing I would have sprayed it and burned it off now

@farminthrufaith Normally is caused when im chewing on my cheek stimmin (adhd) generally goes away if I can knock it off for atleast 4 days. Longer if im stressed out but then im probably back to chewing and have something else to stim on
