This afternoon, I was unsuccessfully targeted in a phishing attempt by the North Korean Lazarus Group. A girl reached out claiming to be with @SeiNetwork and asking me to appear on a podcast to discuss the DePIN industry. I was a bit suspicious as I'm not really public-facing enough to warrant a cold call for a podcast appearance. So I tried to vet and proceeded with extreme caution. She appeared very conversant in this niche crypto industry and the particular topics of debate within it, which surprised me and make me think it might not be a scam. But when she kept pushing to do the episode as soon as possible, I began to suspect her motives. Ultimately when the date came, she said I needed to sign an "agreement" before proceeding. I opened the link on a different laptop, on a browser I don't normally use, and it took me to a blurred out .pdf file - notably, hosted on the official DocSend website. Strangely, it said I couldn't view the file in browser (see attached image). When I clicked the link, it began downloading a .zip file, which I immediately cancelled before scouring the downloads folder to be sure nothing went through. I believe this was a .pdf file hosted on the legitimate DocSend website, which contained an image of a blurred document, complete with a button that sends you to an external .zip file hosted on a different website. Indeed, when I inspected the blurred image, the button links to a file hosted on Docsend.Host. Upon further investigation, this is a malicious URL associated with North Korean cybercriminals. Anyway, another narrow miss in the perilous cryptocurrency underworld. I dodged a similar bullet a few years ago when someone reached out posing as a new client offering work. Hopefully this alerts people to another potential attack vector and nobody falls prey to this sort of scam. There but for the grace of God go I. Be safe everyone!

Openclaw cronjob reminder system is horrible. Imagine setting up individual cron jobs for every person's birthday for the second brain. That's hundreds of separate jobs just for annual reminders. Plus they're fire-and-forget. If something goes wrong, you just don't get reminded
