I think this is a disrespectful take
“Give people value first” srsly???
I barely ever talked to nandi but he has been giving straight up free value for 2 fucking years every fucking day
He literally has 619 free god tier components… FOR FREE that people use in their templates to maek money
Also 1k for a course that can literally make u 10k+ if u lock in for 2 weeks. from one template. Which u can make many more afterwards
Its actually cheap (depending on country)
To be honet he shouldve removed the free components and sold them as an add on the 1k for an additional 500
Im not even the audience for this and i feel the need to write this

Nandi (@learnframer) just dropped his 60-day undercover Framer challenge video.
Here is my honest take:
First, I love what Nandi has done for the @framer community. Framer University is one of the best free resources out there. Hundreds of tutorials, components, animations. All free.
The man has given more to this community than most people realize. And the experiment itself is legit impressive. Zero followers, fake name, $11,579 in 60 days. The production quality is cinema level. No debate.
But the marketing missed the mark. And I think it's worth talking about because there are real lessons here for all of us who build and sell in this ecosystem.
People signed up for what felt like a free live event. Joined WhatsApp groups. Got hyped emails for days. Some cancelled plans. Some woke up at midnight in different time zones.
What they got was a 16-minute trailer for an $847 course.
Not a livestream. Not a breakdown. Not even 5 minutes of real talk before the pitch. Just a trailer.
The comments tell the full story. People who genuinely respect Nandi saying "I feel misled." Not haters. His own community.
The fix was simple. Do the actual livestream. Sit down for 45-60 minutes. Walk through the journey. Share some wins, some failures, some real moments. Give people value first. Then say "if you want the full 154 hours of footage, every build, every sales call, here's the course." People would have bought it. Trust intact. Everyone wins.
The second problem is audience-offer mismatch.
The messaging says 'starting from zero' and 'anyone can replicate it.' That attracted beginners. People trying to figure out their first dollar. Some who lost jobs.
Then the price is $847. With tax, over $1,000.
That's not a beginner price point. That's a price for freelancers already doing client work who want to add templates and passive income to their revenue. They can afford it. They have the context to apply it. But that's not who showed up.
And one more thing people noticed. Nandi is Framer's first official mentor. Runs Framer University. Years of design experience. Award-winning creator.
He started from zero followers. Not zero skills. That's a big difference and the marketing blurs that line.
The experiment proved there's real opportunity in Framer. That part is valuable. But it didn't prove a complete beginner can replicate those results in 60 days.
None of this changes the fact that Nandi is one of the best creators in the Framer space. The content inside that course is probably worth every dollar. Real sales calls, real client builds, full template creation process. That level of transparency is rare.
The product is solid. The funnel just needs a rethink.
Best of luck to him. He deserves it.
What's your thought?

i prob have similar fixed code somewhere if you need

half of my job literally is to shape optics for funded and bootstrapped founders alike, as you can't extract yourself from perception when selling something
i don't usually engage on this kind of post, i only did because i rate you and followed up with valuable advice
no shade on your work overall, just that one video. take it or leave it
English

@hours I think your stuck in your job's mindset.
All your points are true for some people but irrelevant in what I am building.
You take one piece of my work and zoom on it using the word "garbage".
You just made me want to never work with you while I appreciated you.
English

Ok, Remotion is INSANE.
I installed it on my OpenClaw this morning.
I gave my logo, my landing page and the 14 steps I needed for that video.
After 5 iterations, I got this 👇
Well... almost.
I wasn't happy about the voiceover.
So I sent the script that Marc (my OpenClaw agent) created to ElevenLabs (free plan).
Then used Capcut to add the music + the voiceover from ElevenLabs.
And I got this video.
I am sure it's just a question of time until it becomes perfect (or a lack of skills on my side).
But this will go straight to my landing page and I'll save $500 on a video editor.

What's Remotion? A way to compose your video with code! • Use React, a powerful frontend technology, to build sophisticated videos with code. • Put together building blocks - like
English

i'm actually not, as i said it's not the point and it's irrelevant. i understand the mindset you're in, not saying it's wrong, you should optimise for velocity and low-cost
i'm saying there's much more tasteful ways to do so than using objectively cheap / sloppy content on your website, which ultimately hurts your brand and the perception people have of your product
one of my most long-term client is @neilsuperduper. he had the same mentality in the early days of superwhisper, there's no denying it's the right approach when you're starting a bootstrapped operation.
but i'm sure the founder-facing walkthroughs screen-recordings he used to do did tremendously better for his brand, conversion and retention than if he had used videos like this, and it probably costed him less money than the claude tokens you burnt on this lol
it's not about nudging you to spend on agencies or to not use AI (i use it daily). my angle is to compose gracefully with what you have and use restrain when the output is not optimal. its not because you can do x that you should, and not because you can't do y that you can't find a more tasteful alternative
you can appear very established and trustworthy with very little (shout out @henrikruscon). my whole point is to not give the viewer reasons to doubt, while this video would unequivocally make me question the quality and level of care behind the product i'm buying
English

I think the first sentence is your point.
You comparing it to your service.
This video brought 120k eye balls on my brand. It’s a first shot that I can send to any motion design service so they have the concept in mind.
And it will help convert better for my SaaS.
It’s not VC founded. It’s bootstrapped which means we ship fast and push for profitability.
English

eh i'd prob charge you more than $4k but that's not the point
better to not put stuff like this out in the public as it's terrible for brand optics. instantly classifies your product as cheap
less is more, and with how skilled you are at video making, a good old founder-facing video would do much better than whatever this is
English

@hours Of course I would have guy like you who compare it to a $4,000 video agency.
