@gregalthoff Perhaps you should read what I wrote once again or twice. You are twisting it! Layoffs are different. Some of my best friends been through that. messed up situation. it didn’t “end” their design career though.

@oykun My thought so too. Seems conveniently times with some alt life path. Some people like to blame some grand external orchestration for what is mostly the compounding of their own choices. It’s fine. Humans will human.

The clients who wanted 47+ revisions for $500 and make designers life a nightmare now have a tool that gives them 47+ revisions for $20. (or until they are ready to invest in good design) The ones who actually care about good design, and there is more now thanks to ai-slop, still pay $$$ to designers and respect their expertise. More of higher quality clients More $$$ investment in good design More respect for good design and designers

Designers who will earn the most in the next 5+ years aren't the best/fastest ones in Figma. They're the ones clients trust to make decisions. AI handles execution. Thinking/Decision-making is still expensive. Oh, btw, that has always been the case. Nothing has changed!
