Cleric recounts past involvement in 1980 bank robbery, claims spiritual transformation By: Zagazola Makama A cleric with the Church of Christ in Nations, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has publicly recounted his past involvement in a bank robbery carried out in 1980 in Jos. Dachomo, who has been described as a controversial figure, disclosed this in a recent interview with a foreign media He said he was part of a gang that successfully carried out the operation and made away with a substantial amount of money in Plateau state. According to him, the robbery was led by a close associate at the time. “He came to my room while I was sleeping. I didn’t know that I was operating with 14 demons until Jesus encountered me. That night there was war. He came with seven angels. I was just an observer, seeing the drama that is being done on my life. Jesus ordered the seven angels to strike the enemy. In fact, they were killed instantly. I took the covers of those images that were killed and I covered myself as if I’m dead. But the master Jesus said there was somebody that we have not killed. Go, fish him out. When they were coming, booting other corpses, then I had to stand up and begin to beg. I was asking for forgiveness. Forgive me, forgive me. I will never do that again.” He further admitted his past criminal involvement, stating: “Because I went in 1980, it was our gang that robbed a bank in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. 1980, they made away with a lot of money. It was my best friend that led the operation.” The cleric added that the encounter marked a turning point in his life: “I didn’t know that I would come and encounter God and God really helped me. That day that I encountered Jesus, I went outside. I tried my best to smoke cigarette or cool it. The power of smoking was broken in my life.” The cleric stated that his life later took a different turn following what he described as a personal spiritual encounter, which led him to abandon criminal activities and embrace a religious path. H e added that the experience marked a decisive break from his past, including the cessation of habits such as smoking. The public confessions by reverend Dachomo has generate mixed reactions, with some viewing them as testimonies of transformation, while others call for scrutiny and historical verification of the claims. Sheikh Yusuf Haruna Baban Chinedu, popularly known as Baban Chinedu, accused the pastor of fabricated the stories about meeting Jesus after a 1980 bank robbery in Jos. He is lying! I want you to listen and know that first of all, this man is a complete hypocrite and a total liar. I swear, it was a gun that shot them! Angels? He claims Jesus came down with seven angels who struck them and killed fourteen people while he hid in the blood? You see, even the angels God sent down… only managed to kill fourteen people and lost track of where that one man was?” The sheikh alleged Dachomo hid among corpses and was rescued by a gang member named Emmanuel, not Jesus: “He was begging Jesus for God’s sake to forgive him and spare his life. He claims that was where he met Jesus… By Allah, he is lying! … It was a gun that shot them! No Jesus descended there; he is lying to you.” He added. A lady told me; she heard him when he was shot, and he still has the scar from that wound on his left side. … He is lying! At that time, it was the police, Nigerian security agents, Nigeria Police MOPOL who she said shot them.” Baban Chinedu accused Dachomo of transitioning from “practical, street-level bandit” to “spiritual bandit” and inciting religious conflict.

@iOccupyNigeria I will never understand the comparison between America and a third world country. Even Mexico that shares border with the United States of America Do not make these comparisons that we do here all the time. None of the South American countries even do that.

Omo… make we talk true because this one don pass joke. You dey talk like person wey never see how serious countries dey run. For 🇺🇸 United States (state & federal): Civil servants no dey collect car. Dem dey collect salary, pension, benefits. Even governors, commissioners, federal officials — no be “take car go house forever.” Any government vehicle na for official duty only. If dem misuse am for personal errands, na problem. Big one. For 🇬🇧 UK: Civil servants no dey collect car. Salary, pension, benefits. Even ministers sef, the car no be their own — na official use. You leave office, you leave the car. For 🇦🇪 Dubai: Dem pay people well — salary, housing allowance, transport allowance. No be car sharing program for retirees. Any government car na for the position, not the person. For 🇶🇦 Qatar: Same thing. Strong pay, strong benefits. Government car no be personal gift. You leave office, you leave the car. So wetin be the global standard? Government no be car dealership. Now come Lagos. • Children still dey die — infant mortality still high • Women still dey die for childbirth — among the worst globally • Water? Majority dey buy am or dig borehole • Light? Generator na national anthem • Transport? 15 million people, ~300+ BRT buses But your focus na: “Make we buy car for civil servants.” Are you okay? If person work 30 years: PAY AM WELL GIVE AM PENSION GIVE AM HEALTHCARE No be to carry taxpayers money buy motor give am like party gift. Because make we break am down: Car no be asset for government — na liability E go depreciate E go chop maintenance money E no solve any public problem Meanwhile: People dey trek, dey suffer transport Hospitals dey struggle Water no dey flow Light no dey stable But oga must collect new whip? This no be governance. Na elite comfort over mass suffering. Any country wey get sense: Public money → public good Na only for unserious system you go see: Public money → private enjoyment My guy… this one no be opinion. Na clear case of misplaced priority and economic nonsence
Dr. Toks 🦇@fimiletoks

BRT isn't the only means of transportation in Lagos state. Lagos state as a subnational government commisioned 2 intra-city rail lines in 5 years. Broke ground for the 3rd rail line construction in the Lekki axis. This is what some African countries aspire to do. Built 13 new jetties for water transportation. Commissioned high-capacity boats. Launched LagRide cabs and last-mile buses, currently building a multi-modal transport interchange in Marina, Ajah, Mile 2, and Bus corridors in parts of the state. What is bad about buying cars for Level 17 civil servants who have spent over 30 years serving the state? Don't they deserve it? What is it about Lagos all the time?

On this day one year ago, we packed our bags hearts heavy, minds uncertain, and spirits stretched between fear and faith. We stepped into the unknown, leaving behind familiarity, comfort, and everything we once called normal. Moving to America🇺🇸 wasn’t just a change of location; it was a complete shift of life as we knew it. There were so many questions with no clear answers. Will we adjust? Will we be accepted? Will things work out? The fear of the unknown was real. It sat quietly in our thoughts during the day and grew louder at night. Starting over in a new country is not easy. It means rebuilding your identity, your confidence, your routine, your community. It means learning systems that others take for granted, navigating a different culture, and sometimes feeling like you have to prove yourself all over again. There were moments of loneliness, where the absence of family and familiar faces felt overwhelming. Moments of doubt, when things didn’t go as planned. Moments of exhaustion, trying to balance survival with hope. The simple things became complex, understanding processes, finding opportunities, adjusting to a new pace of life. But in the middle of it all, there was grace. One year later, when I look back, I don’t just see the struggles,I see growth. I see strength we didn’t know we had. I see doors that opened when it seemed like there were none. I see resilience, courage, and a journey that, despite its challenges, has shaped us into something stronger and better. Every step, every tear, every small win has been worth it. And above all, I see God’s hand in it all. Because truly, this journey was bigger than us. When we didn’t know how things would come together, He made a way. When fear tried to take over, He gave us peace. When we felt like giving up, He gave us strength to keep going. So today, my heart is full of gratitude.🙏🙏🙏🙏 Thank you, Jehovah, for bringing us this far. Thank you for the journey, the lessons, the growth, and the victories—both big and small. Thank you for turning our fears into testimonies. One year later, we are still standing. Still growing. Still believing. And this is only the beginning. #nursejoywilliam #gratefulheart #SharedJoy #joy

@Onsogbu The subsidy paid is not tied to population though thr population influences indirectly. Its tied to consumption rate. Saudi consumes more fuel than Nigeria daily. But again they have the money to chest the deficit. If only the wastage in Nigeria is properly conserved

Baban Chinedu says Pastor Ezekiel Dachomo is a former Armed robber now turned crises entrepreneur By: Zagazola Makama Sheikh Yusuf Haruna Baban Chinedu, popularly known as Baban Chinedu, has launched a scathing and evidence-based attack on controversial Plateau pastor Ezekiel Dachomo in a viral video, accusing him of being a former armed robber and a liar who fabricated stories about meeting Jesus after a 1980 bank robbery in Jos. Baban Chinedu declared: “Ezekiel Dachomo isn't just someone seen in a photo with a bandit; no, he is the bandit! … Ezekiel committed armed robbery. We have records on him from 1976, from '76 to sometime after 2000. … This man is a hardened armed robber.” He played a clip of Dachomo admitting: “Because I went in 1980 is our gang that robbed a bank in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. 1980, they make away with a lot of money. It was my best friend that led the operation.” Baban Chinedu challenged: “Praise be to God, I hope you all heard the statement this man made. … He is lying! At that time, it was the police, Nigerian security agents, Nigeria Police MOPOL who she said shot them.” Baban Chinedu accused Dachomo of transitioning from “practical, street-level bandit” to “spiritual bandit” and inciting religious conflict: “The armed bandits of the past are the ones who transformed into these kidnappers. … All those who are making these plans are your boys… You’re insulting her religion, she told us the truth about everything that happened… You are a robber, and the government should investigate you; you’re behind all of this.” He challenged Dachomo to court: “Ezekiel, I, Yusuf Haruna Baban Chinedu, challenge you: if you know there's any falsehood in what's being said about you, take it to court.” The sheikh demanded investigation: “We want the government if possible to investigate this man, I swear to God he's an armed robber… By Allah, the government should know that Ezekiel is involved in this. Let him tell you the names of those he robbed with.” The viral video has ignited fierce online reactions, with many praising Baban Chinedu’s evidence-based approach while others condemn the personal attacks on Dachomo, intensifying Nigeria’s ongoing religious and ethnic tensions occasioned by US recent remarks on Christians genocide propaganda.

I’ve noticed something about dating: The ones who genuinely love you, you’re not attracted to. The ones you’re deeply attracted to, don’t feel the same for you. Funny how it works. This life isn’t balance.
