Il palazzo Barberini era frequentato anche dalla Regina d’Italia. Credo fosse la Regina Margherita facendo i calcoli con l’età della mia trisnonna. Era talmente brava e curata che la Regina chiese alla Principessa di poter prendere con sé Rosina come sua stiratrice personale. Un giorno la piccola principessina di casa disse alla mamma, Principessa Barberini : “Mamma, mamma, l’uomo dei monti è venuto a trovare Rosina”. L’uomo dei Monti era il tris-nonno Adriano — proprietario terriero che per l’epoca era considerato già “ricco”, ma agli occhi dei nobili era un semplice uomo dei monti, sceso a Roma a cavallo, indossando i “calzari”, che coprivano tutte le gambe. Rosina si sposò con Adriano. Lascio’ i palazzi nobiliari di Roma. Si occupò della sua casa, che era sempre elegante e pulita. Sua figlia Zelinda era la mia bisnonna, che tramando’ la stessa cura meticolosa a sua figlia Ada, mia nonna, che da bambina veniva vestita con grande cura e con merletti ovunque.
