Yep. Howard Sounes and Philip Carlo for non fiction, (albeit in Carlo's case that was debatable, because Richard Kuklinski.)
Richard Adams and Mary Higgins-Clark for fiction.

Have you ever finished a book and thought, “Okay, I’m reading everything this person writes”?

Farewell to Bob Weir who told me when I interviewed him for Down the Highway: The Life of Bob Dylan that Dylan asked to join the Grateful Dead … but Phil Lesh vetoed it. ‘I was in for that,’ Weir told me. ‘But one of our members didn’t particularly care for him.’

@GoldWatchRecord It’s aimed at intelligent readers, with a sense of humour, so probably not a book for you.
English

@HowardSounes A perfect summation of this book by its author, focused on bad behavior and hate for its subject, rather than his musical genius
Avoid at all cost!

@StevieHKop1 @batcountry1980 @Top10Nathan Thanks Stevie, my new book out this year is The Fred West Tapes. Too early to mention anything beyond that. These things take a long time to come right.

@HowardSounes @batcountry1980 @Top10Nathan Howard, may I ask what your next book is about, I have just ordered your Lou book👍✌️

Hi @batcountry1980, looking for some Bob Dylan book recommendations. Know you've got one or three knocking around - what's best for a good read on his life?
English

@ilcopestick @batcountry1980 Thanks Ian. I agree re Bukowski.
English

@batcountry1980 @HowardSounes Very good book, he's interested, but not obsessed.
Have you read his Bukowski biography, best thing he's written, I think.
English

@StevieHKop1 @batcountry1980 @Top10Nathan Yes, very good book. Gordon Burn was a first class journalist and a great stylist when it came to writing non-fiction.
English

@batcountry1980 @Top10Nathan Howard sounes Is brilliant, but the best book and probably best crime book I can only compare to Truman Capote in cold blood is this, unbelievable writing is Gordon Burns Happy like Murderers

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to write this my life of #bobdylan and nice to hear that readers have enjoyed it. Bob the Great.

@Top10Nathan Howard Sounes is one of my favourite music biographers. He started as a crime journalist, he was one of the main reporters on the Fred and Rose West case, and he wrote a book about that. His music books are all excellent. He’s written about Dylan, McCartney and Lou Reed.

@d1052541 @thebeatles Also literally the long and winding road to Paul McCartney’s remote Scottish cottage on Kintyre - see Fab: An Intimate Life of Paul McCartney. amazon.co.uk/Fab-Intimate-L…
English

@thebeatles McCartney wrote the song at his farm in 1968, inspired by the growing tension among the Beatles.
Author Howard Sounes "the lyrics can be seen as McCartney expressing his anguish at the direction of his personal life, as well as a nostalgic look back at the Beatles' history "

@lorrainethf Thanks Lorraine. There are a blizzard of podcasts I appear in re the West murders but you refer I guess to my podcast series Unheard: The Fred & Rose West Tapes?
English

@HowardSounes Somewhat late to the party but listening to the podcast. Brilliant but so sad. The sisters of Juanita Mott 😭😭😭 So compelling so sad. Brilliant work Howard. Very sensitive and well presented. X
