Archie is a gorgeous two-and-a-half-year-old shepherd mix boy, who appears to be mostly Carpathian Shepherd, a Romanian breed. He is without a doubt a very good boy who has had a difficult start to life. After being rescued from Lancram shelter in Romania, Archie spent time with specialist foster carers before travelling to England. He arrived in late February 2026 and is currently in foster care in Suffolk. Archie is a timid lad at first but very friendly once he gets to know you. He is bright and very food-led and therefore highly trainable, though he can be nervous in new situations until he has time to assess what’s going on and realise that he is safe. With patience and reassurance, he gains confidence well. His ideal family will be able to give him the time and space he needs to settle, and in return Archie will be a wonderful, loving companion. He loves his walks and has great potential for recall with some training. He is starting to enjoy cuddles with the people he trusts and certainly enjoys his food. Archie weighs around 27kg and is approximately the size of a Labrador Retriever. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and comes with a pet passport. Archie is a lovely, gentle boy who has shown no signs of aggression. He currently lives happily with two children, two other dogs, a cat, and chickens. Although he enjoys playing with the cat (and the cat plays with him) he has shown no issues and cohabits well.
