@iamtoobusy They need £38k to live in the UK as they need to be net contributors to the tax system which they would not be if they earned less than that. Pensioners and people on minimum wage are net recipients from the state.

I'm confused- if immigrants need £38k+ to live in UK, why are the state pension & minimum wage so much lower than that?
