Very pleased to have published this open access article with Colleen Chen @TimothyKariotis and Shirley Jackson. There are too many barriers in accessing data necessary to improve workplace regulation and compliance - we discuss options for reform cambridge.org/core/journals/…

Serious question: Is society better off with strikes, or without them? Australia is now a society without strikes; it is bipartisan policy that a government body must decide whether workers can withdraw their labour, and it’s virtually impossible to do it. Employers can always withhold their money, but workers cannot withhold their work unless some government employees say they can, which means there can never be balanced negotiations. thenewdaily.com.au/finance/work/2…

Want to know more about @sophielamond's 37 contracts with @UniMelb since 2017? Here's a short interview. Except for @UniMelbMDHS, every faculty Sophie worked for was restructured so many times that "It's hard to keep track of which departments I've worked for." #UnimelbStrikes

This week I am joining NTEU member colleagues at Melbourne Law School in a one week strike because key issues important to us are yet to be resolved in enterprise bargaining with the University, including secure jobs and fair workloads @NTEUUniMelb unimelbebanow.com

#UnimelbStrikes You may have read in the news (if you’re Australian) that staff at the University of Melbourne are going on strike next week. I am one of those people. Here’s a personal account of why I am doing so. I want us to work together, collegially. whatkatydid.net/p/stricken-uni…
