SAVE YOUR WORK…every bad draft, every document, every handwritten note—it’s unfortunate that it’s come to this, but keep all the sloppy human proof that your work is authentic. (AI checkers are garbage, btw.)

@LeannaRapier @JRLarriba I do know that scrivener shows the creation date. I will have to dig around and see what other info it shows. And wow, that's 2200 hours. That's an impressive amount of time.

@HowlJackson @JRLarriba But even if you only have one document, (like you edit within document. I do that with stories that didn’t require major revisions) your document will show creation date and time editing. For example, my last novel it shows I I spent 135,140 minutes editing it lol.

@JRLarriba @LeannaRapier I have handwritten copies of some of my work but only 1 digital draft that I rewrite. I'm not sure in this case what I am supposed to do. I guess I need to start creating new drafts but that's just not how I work.

@LeannaRapier All of my drafts are done in Word, overwritten a million times. I have no hand written copies.

I genuinely do hope she did use AI, and that she isn't being accused of it due to baseless accusations. Many authors/writers still use em dashes, semi colons, and other things that are being flagged as AI. I have been using em dashes since elementary school.

Alright, I know a lot of you have a problem with Chuck Norris because of his politics, and I don't agree with a lot of the things he said, but he brought me endless entertainment as a kid and that is who I am going to mourne. Not everything has to be political.

@brollbenny You didnt grow up in the south. My first go's dad was cleaning a gun when I walked in. I sat down and helped. Its a nonverbal threat, yes a threat, to anyone who would harm my daughter. If your son cant handle that, theres the door.

Here’s what I did do. I drove him home. Well first we ran an errand to get ice cream for my wife. I said “my lady wants ice cream so we’re gonna go get some. There’s a lesson here if you can see it.” I asked him about his grades, his hobbies, what video games he likes, and his family. He remarked that he had only ever been to one girls house before and they didn’t talk to him or seem to care that he was there. I think I did okay, although my daughter was mad I didn’t let her come with to take him home. I just told her that she got to hang out with him for 2 hours I get 2 minutes to take him home. I don’t like all the “clean weapons” posturing. If someone did that to my son I’d be angry.
