@HowlingClouston @LeftieStats Scotland was not a single ethnic group, the gaels were mostly in the Highlands and islands, which is why you have the Germanic Scots language and the gaelic Scots Gaelic language. border reivers raided people regardless of nationality

@DanaTano501 @LeftieStats They were different nations. Thats why they were attacking eachother. The Scottish spoke Scots and were less anglo saxon and more gael. the Northumberian english spoke english and were more anglo saxon

@DanaTano501 @LeftieStats This has happened many times before. They are separate from tge Scottish and English. They are thier own group. This is called ethnogenesis. When this happens a ethnic group becomes native to the area they inhabit. Its the same with the boers.

@HowlingClouston @LeftieStats ...ulster scots descend from come from both sides of the Scottish-English border doesnt mean they are native to Ireland. For a start, they obviously originated in Great Britain and secondly its not as if they were 2 unrelated ethnic groups in GB anyway
