જેમ એક બાળક ‘પૂછ્યા વિના’ પોતાના પિતાનો હાથ પકડી રાખે છે, એ વિશ્વાસ પર કે જ્યાં પણ એને લઈ જશે ત્યાં મજા જ આવશે. મેં પણ એ જ રસ્તે ગઈકાલે સપ્તકમાં ચાલવા પ્રયત્ન કર્યો. શરૂઆતમાં, મને ખ્યાલ નહોતો કે ‘સિતાર મને ક્યાં લઈ જશે. પણ ધીમે ધીમે,’ બધા જ સવાલો અદૃશ્ય થઈ ગયા. ૧/૨

Need more content. What to do? 3 men get together and speak non-stop for more than 3 hours every week. They express their opinion on various issues, irrespective of whether they're educated or informed about the issue or not. It is essentially idle banter that you'd have sitting at a chai shop, which, for the pressures of content creation, is now videographed and published. In this particular episode, a discussion on mental health is happening with the central subject being why Deepika Padukone has been made the brand ambassador for mental health. The senior-most of the three men is questioning why do people go to therapists at all. He says, "Apna personal secret bata rahe ho. Ek to aise kaam hi kyun karo. Saaf sidha jivan vyatit karo. Kisi ko bolna hi nahin padega, yaar mein kisi se baat nahin kar sakta iske bare mein, mein aapko bata raha hun. Aisa kaam hi kyun kar rahe ho. Aur kar liya hai, no regrets. You live only once, bhool jao. Sala guilt mein ji rahe ho to avsaad to hoga." His understanding is that people go to therapists because they do wrong in life, and they see therapists to talk about those things which they can't reveal to anyone else. Further his suggestion is that even if you've done wrong, forget it. It is because you're living under guilt of what you've done, you get depression. The other two men chuckle on the side, because that's the format of the show, when one person talks, others have to laugh. The senior-most asks, "Deepika Padukone mein kya hai? Kya hai unme?" The youngest one of the three, who probably has seen many of his friends go through mental health issues, has a slight expression of embarrassment on his face, but still chuckles sheepishly. He starts to try explain why the decision to appoint Deepika Padukone as a brand ambassador might have been taken, but the senior-most interrupts him. He then while pointing towards his own body, asks, "Can I be made the brand ambassador for fitness?" More chuckles from the two men. At one point, the senior-most suggests that only experts should be considered for this position and clearly Padukone is not one because she doesn't sell any drugs for mental health issues. This disaster goes on for another 9 minutes. Padukone has spoken about her own battles with mental health on various public forums. According to her website, she has been running a foundation since 2015 called LiveLoveLaugh which works on the issue of mental health. Whether Padukone is the right person for the post or not can be debated, but should these 3 non-experts be talking about an issue as sensitive, misunderstood and trivialised as mental health because a lousy news corporation can earn more money through more content?
