Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida personally pilot their own aircraft on official trips—something extremely rare among world leaders. Both are qualified pilots: The King is a trained military and commercial pilot from his time in the Royal Thai Army, certified on fighter jets (like F-5 and F-16) and large jets including the Boeing 737. He has thousands of flight hours. The Queen holds a commercial pilot license, with prior experience as a flight attendant for Thai Airways before her military service.
