Guys love the “so if a gorilla and a python got in a fight, who do you think would win?” windup for pretty much any/everything physical …(when they already know their answer). @Brady_H is stirring the pot again!

Strength training is incredibly important. But the reality is it’s nowhere near as “hard” to do as endurance sports. Lumber around the gym. Pick up something heavy. Put it down again. Rest for 3 minutes. Repeat. Leisurely if you ask me.

And yes most Qs in this general category these days are about GLP Rx meds or BPC.

I always get a lot of “what should I take?” And after my answer I always say “but talk to your doctor first”. ~10% of the time they say, “I am a doctor”. Still trying to wrap my head around this.

@sweatystartup They all taste terrible. To me anyway. Momentous has tablets that taste like sweet tarts but are 1g Creatine, 10 Cal each so just have to factor that in. But delicious. Powder is easier.

What is the best / most pure creatine gummy on the market? I will only ever use powder because I take 20 g a day. But my kids will do a lot better with chewables.

@hubermanlab Sensitive nervous systems coupled with a big imagination pick up on threats that may not be there. Proper breathwork is a lifehack regarding social anxiety. Nice conversation!! Roll up those sleeves & dissect this "punk" list next😊rollingstone.com/music/music-li…

How mental distancing improves willpower and self-control: "Self-control fails when we are not able to move in distance. When it's far away, it's easy. When it's close, it's really difficult." "Referring to yourself in the third person creates psychological distance that gives you just enough to think of it as far as opposed to close." "When you ask yourself 'What would Batman do?' you literally have to think like Batman. In other words, literally turning me and my cognitive system into somebody else." @DrAndyGalpin @hubermanlab Sounds like a date. I heard that big rock gets adjusted for total body size though? 😄 If not, I’ll start training now I guess…

Omega-3s may be one of the most powerful dietary tools for resolving inflammation and slowing biological aging In a 3-year randomized trial of healthy older adults, omega-3 alone slowed epigenetic aging, while vitamin D and resistance training alone did not But the biggest effect came when all three were combined: omega-3, vitamin D, and resistance training slowed biological aging by about 3.8 months That may sound small, but it reflects a slower pace of aging that could compound over time The combo was also linked to ~40% lower pre-frailty and 61% lower invasive cancer incidence

@Brady_H The rock is especially hard because it’s uneven and you have to keep adjusting the grip and hold. @DrAndyGalpin got it! Lots of elite endurance guys have done it but it maxxed them so it should put you right at/near the limit. Muddy trail bonus.

@Brady_H Train legs properly in your upper strength range & you’ll likely be walking this one back… or rather, not walking. Try the rock carry with Cam Hanes. That’s the endurance/strength merge. I’ll set it up & join for round II. 72lbs, 1K+ elevation. No setting it down though!

@bigbaddad7101 @drmikehart I never changed my stance on this. I’ve always said that it’s to avoid the afternoon crash. People have contorted the message, including that I walked it back & I say that if I get up and I want to hit a workout hard first thing then I drink caffeine right away. Per same.

Happiness & wellbeing are like a leaky tire. You have to keep pumping them up. Because we adapt. Thinking about these as moments & not some larger trait reframes everything in beneficial ways. This squares with the biology too. Dr Nick Epley on the Huberman Lab podcast out now.
