Humanism personified. @hudsonsklee shares screening resources to better identify unhoused individuals and how to be more intentional in their care in the outpatient setting. @WCM_MedChiefs @WCMGIM

As healthcare workers committed to the well-being of all New Yorkers, we condemn any efforts to limit shelter stays. We’re proud to support the NY SANE coalition's call to action against policies that threaten the health and stability of asylum-seeking families.

1199, the Nurses, and more are calling for an end to the 30- and 60- day shelter limits in NYC — the same morning Lander is releasing what’s expected to be a critical report on its impact on migrant families with children. politico.com/f/?id=0000018f…

968 migrants are sleeping outside, a ~25% increase in ppl experiencing unsheltered homelessness in NYC. The 30/60d shelter stay limits are worsening the homelessness crisis and putting lives at risk. I echo the #NYSANECoalition in calling for an end to these dangerous policies.
THE CITY@THECITYNY

Nearly a thousand migrants waiting for a new shelter cot spent a recent night on the streets or in trains, according to an internal poll conducted by city officials and obtained by @THECITYNY. buff.ly/3SZz2tZ

Placing limits on shelter stays isn’t just immoral; it’s bad policy. I’m proud to have the support of over 150 NYC healthcare professionals demanding our City pass #Intro1212 to ban shelter stay limits. More from @Gothamist 👇 gothamist.com/news/nyc-to-or…

As we've seen over and over again with our unhoused patients, health can only be built upon the safety and security of permanent housing, towards which our city's shelters are an imperfect but critical step for many migrants and other individuals experiencing homelessness.

And to all NYC healthcare workers: Please consider signing this open letter to Adams protesting the now harsher 30d shelter stay limits, which will further overwhelm our city's housing services and only push migrants and shelter residents onto the streets. forms.gle/VeDsCZVcuKQ648…

NYC's longstanding Right to Shelter is under threat; there are better ways to address what should be called the "housing crisis", not the "migrant crisis". Join us on 10/11 to demand pragmatic and humane housing solutions across NYC and NY state! RSVP at hj4a.org/RightToShelter
