I think today’s attack on peaceful cities answered the question of whether Ukraine should continue to be supported. My son called me terrified, crying, and said that because Russian bandits were shelling us — his exact words — he could not go to the circus. Who gave them the right to steal my son’s childhood? No, I will not sit with folded hands in grief. I will do everything in my power to destroy those who came to my land with weapons.

I welcome Australia’s decision to extend duty-free access for Ukrainian goods until July 2028. This is a strong signal of Australia’s unwavering support for Ukraine at a time when Russia continues its brutal war against our people and attempts to undermine our economy and resilience. Grateful to my counterpart @SenatorWong, Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell, the Australian Government, and the people of Australia for standing firmly with Ukraine and consistently supporting our people.

Hegseth: U.S. troops are sent to Ukraine to learn real drone warfare and modern combat. Also Hegseth & Trump: “Ukraine has no cards.” So… you’re learning from a country with “no cards”? Make it make sense.

🚫 Sanctions on Russia are not a bargaining chip. They're a consequence. Russia is still at war. Its forces are still striking Ukrainian cities. Lifting sanctions now - before any real accountability - sends one message: aggression works. That's not a message the world can afford to send. Sanctions stay until there's full accountability, respect for international law, and Ukraine's sovereignty is recognized. Not before. 💬 Tell decision-makers to hold the line: 👉 amukr.org/do-not-lift-sa… #StandUpWithUkraine #SupportUkraine #SanctionRussia #RussianWar #RussianWarInUkraine

Naším úkolem je být spolehlivými spojenci. Na summitu B9 jsme jednali o posílení obrany východního křídla NATO, další podpoře Ukrajiny i větší odpovědnosti evropských států za vlastní bezpečnost. Právě spolupráce, důvěra a připravenost dnes pomáhají udržovat Evropu bezpečnou.

Let’s be honest about what we’re watching here. 🇺🇸 330 million people, the country that put men on the moon, defeated the Nazis is now sitting on its sofa watching its president post crayon drawings of Venezuela with an American flag on it. At least the Russians who oppose Putin have a reasonable excuse not to speak up. Siberia is cold and windows are tall. At least North Koreans can point to the very real possibility of their entire extended family being relocated to a concrete box with no heating. These are legitimate barriers to civic engagement. What’s America’s excuse? You can vote. You can protest. You can run for office. Nobody is sending you to a gulag. The worst thing that happens is someone calls you a name on Truth Social. And yet, there you all sit, 330 million of you, watching a man who cannot spell “Venezuela” claim it as American territory, while nodding along like this is a completely normal thing for a head of state to do. No dictator in modern history has done more damage to the prestige of a country’s highest office than this man, and he’s done it entirely voluntarily, with access to the full resources of the American government, and a communications team that apparently just lets him post whatever falls out of his head before breakfast. Kim Jong-un, for all his considerable faults, has never once posted a map with a flag on it and called it foreign policy. Think about that. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Why should any intelligent person take a peace treaty with russia seriously? It took just two years for russia to invade again after they signed a peace treaty with Chechnya in 1997. They made treaties with Moldova and Georgia in 1999, but Moldova is still partly occupied and Georgia was invaded in 2008. They signed a treaty with Ukraine in 1997, building on a memorandum in 1994 promising to respect its border and sovereignty, but then invaded in 2014. They signed two "ceasefire" agreements afterwards, but broke them too. And then started a full-scale invasion in 2022. The only way to make russia live in peace with its neighbours is to be strong enough that we can force it to do so.
Aset Sabb@AsetSabb

On May 12, 1997, Russia and Chechnya signed the #Treaty of Peace and Principles of Relations between the Russian Federation and the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, officially ending the First Russian-Chechen War. Both parties pledged to renounce the use of force. However, Russia violated this commitment and invaded Grozny in 1999, proving once again that it cannot be trusted and does not respect the agreements it signs. The world once abandoned Chechnya and is now paying the price for allowing international norms to be violated with impunity. Ceding Ukrainian territories now would mean a surrender of sovereignty and the further encouragement of Russia's expansionist ambitions. The world must learn from past mistakes: Russia’s aspirations for dominance must not be legitimized. This Treaty remains a key document in the history of relations between the #ChechenRepublic of Ichkeria (CRI) and the Russian Federation. Francis Boyle, a professor of international law at the University of Illinois, argues in his work that by signing a peace treaty with the CRI, Russia de facto recognized it as a sovereign state. Consequently, the international community should also view the republic as an independent entity. Today, the Russian authorities and many political circles, including Russian liberals, remain silent about the existence of this treaty. However, this document is officially published on the UN website. By violating the terms of the agreement, #Russia launched a second military aggression in 1999, once again demonstrating the methods of state terror to the world. The conflict between Russia and Chechnya is an interstate confrontation, and the presence of a hundred-thousand-strong Russian army on the territory of the CRI constitutes a direct #occupation. #peacetreaty #chechenstate

European leaders have been negotiating with putin for many many years. putin responded by launching a hybrid war against Europe and invading Ukraine in 2014 and full-scale invasion in 2022. russia is a fascist imperialist state.

Ukrainian security expertise is already working in the Gulf countries, helping in the Middle East and the South Caucasus – and it’s just beginning. We’ve also started this work in Europe, though not yet with all European countries. I proposed the Drone Deal for the EU – we discussed it with Ursula von der Leyen. But of course, this must be developed both at the level of European institutions and at the level of countries. It has to be a multi-level system. I believe all of us need bilateral Drone Deals. From an intervention at the Bucharest Nine Summit. (2/5)

The most wanted war criminal at the ICC dressed up like a princess ‼️ One Ukrainian mother spent hours speaking to a woman she believed was helping save her deported children. When they finally met, the woman looked like Cinderella ; elegant, soft-spoken, wearing a princess dress and a tiara. She smiled warmly and told the mother: “Today is a big day. Your children are coming home.” To that desperate mother, she looked like a saviour. Only later did she discover the truth: The woman she trusted was Maria Lvova-Belova ; wanted by the International Criminal Court for the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children. And the tragedy did not end there. When the mother reunited with her 6-year-old daughter, the little girl looked at her and said: “You are not my mother.” Four years had erased her memories, language, and identity. Only when the mother whispered: “You love dancing. You wanted to become a ballerina.” did the little girl finally say: “You are my mother.” This is the unseen tragedy behind every reunification. At the @emile_fondation , teams work day and night to identify, locate, and reunite these children before they completely forget who they are. Please share. The world needs to understand this horror.

For decades, Russia has waged war against European democracy, investing enormous financial and human resources into it — sometimes with tanks, sometimes through useful idiots like Orbán and Tucker Carlson. And yet Europe still opens its doors to Russian propaganda. You either stand up for your values and toughen the fuck up, or you render yourselves obsolete in the face of autocrats.

Russian Duma (parliament) has approved the permission for Putin to use Russia's armed forces in foreign countries to "protect Russians" who are under arrest abroad. It took Duma just several minutes to approve this. Over 3,000 Russians are currently under arrest in various countries. Many have received sentences for cyber fraud, smuggling, espionage and money laundering. So now, Russia would be able to invade a foreign country to "defend its citizens." See quoted post for more details on this.
Anton Gerashchenko@Gerashchenko_en

❗️Soon, virtually any holder of a Russian passport abroad could become a pretext for Russian military intervention. The EU should sharply restrict entry for Russian citizens. This is no longer about comfort or "openness" - it is a matter of security. The formula should be simple: minimal entry by default, maximum checks, and exceptions only for genuinely justified humanitarian and family cases. This is not "Russophobia," but basic self-defense. The Russian government has officially submitted draft law No. 1181659-8 to the State Duma, allowing the extraterritorial use of the Russian Armed Forces by presidential decision to "protect" Russians detained, held, or prosecuted abroad under decisions of foreign or international courts whose jurisdiction Moscow does not recognize. This is groundwork for a pretext. Russia’s draft law should not be read as concern for "its people" but as an attempt to pre-legitimize the use of force abroad. The Kremlin is systematically building a legal construct: ◾️ first - rejecting the jurisdiction of foreign and international courts (December 2025); ◾️ then - banning the extradition of those who fought for Russia (March 2026); ◾️ now - a separate provision allowing the use of the military to "protect" detained Russians abroad. Among the most notable current cases are Butyagin (now in Poland) and Torden (in Finland). For the Kremlin, almost anyone could become a future "rescue" target (they may also draw inspiration from the Maduro precedent), especially if their case is useful for propaganda. The core objective is to frame virtually anything as an "attack on Russia." If a Russian citizen is detained by a European state for any reason - war crimes, occupation-related activities, sabotage, or cooperation with proxy networks - the Kremlin seeks to portray this not as law enforcement, but as the "persecution of Russian citizens." This is the key mechanism: to turn a criminal arrest into a political incident, and a political incident into grounds for escalation. The danger is that the material for such cases already exists in Europe. Russian nationals linked to Wagner, proxy structures, sabotage activities, recruitment, and covert operations are already present across Europe. Some are already involved in investigations and court cases. Others may be used in future provocations. This means the Kremlin does not even need to wait for an accidental incident - potential figures who can later be framed as "victims of persecution" already exist. The scheme is simple and dangerous: first - a provocation, sabotage, or other subversive act; then - the arrest of the operative in Europe; followed by a media campaign about a "hunt for Russians"; and finally - invoking the new legal provision as grounds for "protection." This is how not a diplomatic dispute, but a controlled pretext for special operations, abductions, coercive pressure, or broader escalation is created. The conclusion is stark: this draft law is not about protecting citizens - it is about instrumentalizing them. The Kremlin wants any arrest of a Russian abroad - whether an archaeologist, militant, saboteur, recruiter, mercenary, or simply a Russian citizen dissatisfied with European laws - to be repackaged, when needed, into a casus belli.
