Yesterday’s result was a strong response following two difficult away defeats. A record-breaking attendance at the CBS made it even more special. We’re now focused on the challenges ahead! 🩵
@Christo7850@realaleupnorth This pub is in Torquay and you are correct the landlord fell behind on HMRC payments . Lovely pub just in a town of many bars and clubs with no local drinkers
Great shame but unfortunately the landlord got into arrears with HMRC who by all accounts decided to call last orders!
Shame as a lovely unspoilt quirky little pub with great food & excellent ales & sympathetic background & live music.
Doubtless it will bounce back as the owners, The Stonegate Group will doubtless find a new tenant pretty quickly for this desirable unspoilt little pub…obviously dependant on rent aspirations & not forgetting the tie/release scenario!
Pub companies & breweries really have to think about the longevity of their leased/tenanted estates today over appeasing shareholders at every opportunity but getting the balance right is no easy measure.
It’s all very confusing in Torquay, Paignton & Brixham but the Hole in the Wall is actually in Brixham…
The Hole in the Wall, Torquay, one of Britain's oldest pubs, officially closed last Sunday, after almost 500 years!😔Ever increasing running costs & changing consumers social habits were blamed.
The historic Devon pub first opened its doors in 1540. Sad times. 😔

@fit_as_fuc Great album , next ones a bit samey . Mother and Twist of cain are standouts . Misfits also great if not much better . Like an Adam’s family album
Bang into Danzig’s debut currently. It has to be an unfortunate coincidence that they sound like Electric era The Cult. I’m a fan of both bands btw. Not a cuss. Also felt Danzig guitarists pain when he had to stop wearing his favourite Freddy Kruger jumper, cos Cobain had one on
