The Human Utility
@humanutility
Dignity for everyone, everyday. Donors like you have helped over 1,200 families w/water bills in Michigan + Baltimore since July 2014. Water is a human right.

Just talked to the Interim Director of @MiamiDadeWater Jose Cueto about the language around shutoffs and late fees on water bills. This push moved them to work on changing the language on bills to reflect the moratorium, that ppl can pay what they can, and payment options. (1/n)

Thanks for responding. But, the problem is that even if your county has a water shutoff moratorium in place, the statements you send people still suggest they'll be shutoff if they don't pay. How can we get the language adjusted to not say that? @MayorDaniella An example:

@tiffani This sounds like an amazing opportunity. Just wanted to share that the Miami-Dade County Mayor & Bd of County Commissioners issued a moratorium on water disconnects & late fees for all County customers served by us since 3/12 & continues to remain in place for foreseeable future.

Thanks to @shervin's generosity, we're at $204,421 of $250K goal. That's $408,842 with foundation match for @humanutility. Epic times, epic generosity from everybody. ❤️💦

We're @ $152,711 of that $250K @humanutility campaign @hunterwalk + @CBarlerin kicked off. That's $305,422 w/the foundation match. I want to dedicate $100,000 of that to water bills in Miami. Can we get somebody to fill in $97,289 before midnight tomorrow? detroitwaterproject.org
