The divorce rate is so high because men still want to live like their fathers did, but women no longer have to suffer like their mothers did.

Around 15 lakh auto-rickshaw drivers across Maharashtra have announced a statewide agitation from May 4 against the government’s decision to make Marathi language proficiency mandatory for drivers. Unions have warned that the protest could disrupt transport services and lead to a shortage of autos on roads. A memorandum will be submitted to the transport department by April 28, and if the demand is not met, demonstrations will be held daily at railway stations, bus depots, markets, and other public places. #MaharashtraNews #AutoStrike #MarathiRule #PuneNews #RickshawUnion

A delivery boy came to deliver an order at 2 AM. He wanted to use the lift, but there was a notice saying delivery staff are not allowed to use it, and they would be fined ₹100 if caught. He called the customer and asked if they could come down, but the customer replied, “I don’t care how you come, just bring the order.” With no other option, the delivery boy had to climb the stairs late at night to complete his job. Can we not show a little basic respect and kindness to delivery workers?

Commuters in Hinjawadi IT Park Phase 3 are in a state of panic after a Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) truck was caught on camera spilling wet cement across the main road. This reckless act has turned the busy stretch into a slippery death trap, posing a severe risk of skidding for two-wheelers and other vehicles. Residents are now demanding strict legal action from the Hinjawadi Traffic Police against the truck operators, following a history of fatal accidents involving heavy machinery in the IT hub. #Hinjawadi #RoadSafety #PuneTraffic #ITPark #PublicSafety

Naval Kishore Ram has said that none of the 1,000 construction sites surveyed by the Pune Municipal Corporation were following the required rules. According to him, there are 13 guidelines meant to reduce air and noise pollution at construction sites, but not a single site was fully following them. The commissioner said PMC will not stop all construction in the city, but it will become much stricter while giving permissions. He also warned that construction in the 23 newly merged villages may be stopped if basic facilities such as roads, drainage and water supply are not ready. At present, only seven of those villages have proper water supply projects. He pointed out that areas like Mohammadwadi and Undhri have been facing water shortages for years because construction was allowed before civic infrastructure was ready. He also said Pune is becoming too heavily concretised and that open amenity spaces in large projects should be converted into gardens and green areas instead of more buildings. PMC has already limited construction work timings to between 7 am and 9 pm and says stricter enforcement will follow in the coming months.

Decent Inductions that earlier cost Rs 2,000 - Rs 3,000 are now priced between Rs 5,000 - Rs 6,000. The fact that the first instinct of these companies is to loot people in times of crisis shows how far we’ve fallen as a society. A deep decay of humanity !

I am told (happy to be corrected) that Pune rickshaw drivers refusing rides isn’t new, it’s an inherited trait from the tanga/tonga era. Some traditions from adhicha Pune are preserved well. Img Via @VinitaDeshmukh

My cousin & I took a rick from BI rd to FC Rd. Midway driver asks “Yuddha kadhi sampnar?” I ask him why he expect us to know.
“Tumhi doghi English madhye boltay… mala vatla tumhi baherun (phoren) aalay,” I felt compelled to ask back “Dada, tumhi kuthle?” Because only a non Punekar would equate speaking English with being from “baherun”.

"Death Trap" in Disguise: Viral Video Exposes Deadly Holes and Shoddy Fixes on Bihar Overbridge A viral video has exposed dangerous holes on an overbridge in Bihar, putting commuters’ lives at serious risk. Instead of proper repairs, authorities placed jersey barriers in the middle of the road, increasing the chances of accidents rather than preventing them. The incident has raised questions over public safety and negligence.

Indian men are going bald at 25, gaining belly fat at 28, and getting fatty liver at 32. Nobody connects the dots. - Hair thinning at 25 - Belly appearing at 28 - Fatty liver on a blood test at 32 - “Borderline sugar” by 35 - BP medication by 40 You’re treating each one like a separate problem. It’s not. It’s the same body. Same lifestyle. Different stages. 1. The hair was the first warning - He notices the hair at 25. Buys a ₹1,500 shampoo. Tries oils. Tries serums. Nobody tells him to check his stress, his sleep, his iron, his D3. It wasn’t the shampoo. It was a body running on cortisol, zero protein, and 4 hours of sleep since college. 2.He notices the belly at 28 - Joins a gym. Goes 3 weeks. Does cardio. Doesn’t change what he eats. Quits. Blames metabolism. It wasn’t metabolism. It was 5 years of Swiggy, sugary chai 4 times a day, and 12 hours of sitting. 3.He gets a blood test at 32 because his company forced it. Fatty liver. High triglycerides. Borderline sugar. Doctor says “lifestyle changes.” He nods. Moves on. Nobody told him the belly fat at 28 was already doing this - dumping fat into his liver silently for years. 4.He’s on medication by 40 and calls it “family history.” It never ran in the family. It walked there. Slowly. Through every skipped meal, every 2 AM sleep, every Swiggy order, and every blood test he postponed for 10 years. The 25-year-old losing his hair and the 40-year-old getting a stent have more in common than they think. They just met the same lifestyle at different stages. Your body doesn’t break overnight. It sends warnings for years. The hair was the first one. Most men just bought a shampoo and moved on.

Indian dads are different. I called my father to talk to him (not a family group call). We talked barely for 15 seconds, and then he passed the phone to Mom, saying, "Le Mummy se baat kar le." I was like, 'I called you because I want to talk to you, not Mumma. Why are fathers so uncomfortable on calls?'
