Yesterday was my last day at @braintrust — not because I’m joining another company, but because I’m starting my own.

Since Opus 4.8 is out and more and more designers are getting into Design Engineering, I thought I’d share some of the interaction patterns I use most often: Use proximity, not just hover. When the cursor gets close, nearby elements can subtly scale and darken based on distance. @designflyio Lots of vibe coded stuff will break at the seams eventually. “It just works” is disaster waiting to happen.

New client just said this on our call today:
"Design is becoming the only moat left. When everyone's doing one-shot prompts to make whatever app they want, the only way to differentiate is through good design."
Their product is mostly vibe coded. Now they want to fix it. They want to stand out and know AI won't get them there.
Design isn't dead. If anything, AI just made it more valuable.

Breaking: Florida is finalizing a six-year deal to make Tulane’s Jon Sumrall the head coach at an average of nearly $7.5 million per year, sources told @petethamel.
The deal has significant incentives tied to the College Football Playoff. Sumrall is 42-11 in four seasons as a head coach.
