Also, in those 50yrs course conditioning got much more lean; less water and fert along tighter mowing heights pushing turf to the edge so any competition between trees n turf trees win. Lastly, research and knowledge

@Top100Rick @HunterHaas99 As I would tell the members at the club I was a superintendent; there is a reason there are no trees on a sod farm and no grass in a forest.
