@DegenPhilly69 @ISOFairways Yes I’d rate both better. Newer courses they could make a hilly forested oasis in the desert. You couldn’t carve out holes and plant 1000 trees. Modern technology and money can build better now than 100 years ago. Example…Shadow Creek.

@ISOFairways @DegenPhilly69 Truth. Half of the top 100 don’t belong. Many are ranked just because they always have and hosted mayors even though it could have been decades ago. Rate a course on beauty, shot making , variety, condition and design. Don’t rate it cause of tradition or how elite it is.

@DegenPhilly69 @ISOFairways History is a dumb reason for a course to be highly rated. It’s not even a top 300 course in my book. In fact most of the Pinehurst courses are overrated. Just another overrated tradition rated course like Oakmont/Linksmont. About 40 of those in the top 100 don’t belong there.

@Tri_Stanisaurus It’s a terrible airport on all fronts but it matches the terrible city. Low ambition people have no need to fly anywhere.

Just know, as a native austinite, when I hear people complaining about our airport not being " viable" or not a real international airport, It lets me know that they only come here during South by Southwest. They are tourists, and their opinion holds no weight.

@sambaldwin1982 @Top100Rick And now people that are younger are playing golf less and less. No golf courses are being built besides elite high end ones. The game is not growing at all on the bottom or middle. I’m in a city that’s doubled in size the last 20 years and no new public courses built.

@Top100Rick It’s 4 rounds that pretty much caused a paradigm shift in golf - everything seemed to change. Tiger tees/lines, players started working out, people who didn’t watch/play golf started to - it made golf fashionable. This was the start of a new golf.

Its possible that somehow the 97 Masters isn’t appreciated enough. Tiger Woods used a steel shafted driver and a balata golf ball and yet overpowered Augusta and the field. He hit short irons into the par 4’s. Mid irons into the par 5’s. He went driver-8 iron into the 550 yard 2nd hole. He wins by 12. He literally played a different game from the entire field. All while swinging smooth and naturally. He would then change his swing and win the Grand Slam. And yet, somehow one can wonder how his career goes if he never drastically changes this swing. Would love to know the results of that alternate timeline.

@EvanVieth It’s baseball and a midweek game no one is really taking it that serious. Want to check the LSU or other programs midweek losses that no one watched? I didn’t think so. Also baseball is a distant third college sport . It’s an old white man’s sport. No one really cares.

Well, that was the ugliest game of the Jim Schlossnagle era. Not the midweek you wanted before a trip to Auburn, arguably the best staff in the SEC. Texas falls to Tarleton State 6-1 with just two total hits, none in innings 2-8.
