@fazaillutfi @bankofmaldives yes true. their lowest tier credit cards have a foreign e-commerce limit of $700 ($1400 for POS transactions) and they can pay back in MVR for these cards. Before these cards had a limit of $750 which is now divided into different categories

Here's a wild one I heard today. @bankofmaldives $$ credit card limit is higher, & repayment back is in MVR. Is this true? If this true why do credit card holders have a higher limit and other perks, specially when they repay in MVR. Why a two tire system?

@RiyazMansoor @mohamedkudu Genuinely curious - why do people who dont even live here and dont pay taxes should get perks like Aasandha and should get to vote too regardless of where they live?

@maumoonagayoom @NaajihDidi Sir, i dont think you would say that loud if you were the president right now or a top government official of the country . Deep down you may feel what USA is doing wrong, but definitely you will not express your real feelings towards this war.

WAMCO made it hard to throw away things that cannot fit into a black garbage bag and indirectly forced us to use it caps service by charging high gate fees for private pickups and lorries.

@PhotoMV001 Genuinely curious how the colorized version of these photos are exactly true to the original photos? Are these generated from an app? If so how does the app know what the actual colors were?

Members of the powerful Velānāge family, mid-1930s. Seated is Mohamed Didi with Ali Mahir on his lap. Standing (from left): Ahmed Zaki (Prime Minister, 1972–1975), Abdul Majeed Mahir, Ibrahim Mohamed Didi (Vice President under the First Republic), Ibrahim Nasir (Prime Minister 1957–1968; President 1968–1978), and Mājehigé Mohamed Didi. A rare portrait capturing three generations who shaped Maldivian politics for decades. As so often in Maldivian history, exile marked their lives — and two would never return: • Ahmed Zaki — accused by his cousin President Nasir of plotting a coup in 1975 and banished. He later returned to Malé and died in Singapore in 1996. • Ibrahim Mohamed Didi — barred from returning to Malé by his nephew President Nasir and lived the rest of his life in Colombo, where he died in 1981. • Ibrahim Nasir — left for self-exile in Singapore after stepping down in 1978; in 1981 he was convicted in absentia of corruption, misappropriation of state funds, and conspiring against the state. He remained abroad until his death there in 2008.

Can the government please make spitting on the roads an offense? Fine them an exorbitant amount. I remember in 2019 MCC made a request to ban it but I’m unsure if anything came out of it. Karuves kahaalaafa kulhu jahanee. Mududhaaru 🤢

I’ve requested Mayor @adamazim to: - Summon legal head Ali Naseer Gasim to next council jalsa and suspend him till matter clears, - Compile report on both agreements (names, terms, value, differences) and present to council jalsa, - Publicise/report + agreements or share agreements with me, - Submit case to @ACC_Maldives . Fish Market contract incident shows all contracts and Malé land registry must be made public! Delaying publicising only protects the corrupt!!!

This is exactly why I incessantly demand mayor @adamazim to make public all @MaleCitymv contracts: service, procurement, lease, consultancy. Today mayor told the council that during the mayoral transition, the Malé Fish Market contract was amended from $6.1M to $9.6M and awarded to a new party (not selected by the bid committee), without council approval. Full disclosure of contracts and land leases is the only path forward. youtube.com/live/WJR2kaV2F…

A man I saw this morning: This is his home: his wheelchair, parked on a cracked, lonely street. Here, he sleeps, rests, eats, and drinks, finding solace in the only place he knows. With it, he moves, searching tirelessly for food and work, his kind heart shining through the hardship. No one truly understands his suffering, the silent battles he fights daily. Where is his nation? Where is the support he deserves? We’ve turned a blind eye, letting him fade into the background of our busy lives. Yet, his resilience speaks volumes, a testament to the human spirit. He’s one of us: forgotten, but not lost. It’s time we awaken our compassion, offering a hand to lift him from despair. This isn’t just his story; it’s a reminder for us all. To build a community that embraces the forgotten and the marginalised. Do what you can: every small gesture counts. #HumanityMatters #SupportTheForgotten

As a youth myself. I think it’s stupid that our presidential youth advisory board has never held a forum to hear out the concerns of the youth. You cannot give advice on policy without consulting with stakeholders. Maybe since I was abroad before I wasn’t aware and they have held some before.. The PYAB does not represent any of my beliefs. Nor have they ever made any opportunity to hear my concerns nor those of my peers. Do our opinions not mean anything to you since we do not support ur leaders? We were once told some of you are fixing the system from the inside. What steps have you taken to do so? How has that helped? Hold a forum. Listen to the youth or stop calling yourself that. @pyab_gov_mv
