Today marks a significant milestone in Busiika, Luweero, as we celebrate the graduation of 50 young women from the Dignifying Jobs for Women in Construction program with a certificate in decorative masonry👷‍♀️ Over the last four months, these graduates have undergone practical training in bricklaying, block work, and basic blueprint reading among other skills to allow them access better-paying jobs in the industry. This initiative provides less privileged young women with skills that opens doors to economic independence in a traditionally male-dominated industry. When we embarked on the Dignifying Jobs for Women in Construction program, we knew the goal was to equip 100 young women with construction skills🏗️🏨 But our team’s recent visit to the home of one of our trainees in Luweero reminded us that the true 'blueprint' is much bigger than that. We saw firsthand how the impact is being felt beyond the classroom. For Scovia, these skills are a career. For her family, they represent a clearer pathway towards a brighter future. Hey Admin. Am a daughter to the second wife of my dad. You know in most cases children of second wives are favoured more,that was the case. Me and my siblings were really favoured in that our dad kicked his first wife out of the mansion he had built for her, and he told my mum and her kids to occupy it. We occupied it, me my mom and siblings . Our step siblings studied from the village in mbale whereas me and my siblings studied from the best schools around. Our step siblings and step mom had to stay in the village since we occupied the house they occupied before. Our mother always seemed happy about how our steps were being treated. We all finished school only one of my siblings is still in school,she's in Kitende. But mahnnn all our step siblings have succeeded, and on our side it's the opposite. Our step siblings are 5 and they are all having good jobs, the first 3 did masters and the last two are doing their masters, whereas for us, we are four, last born is in highschool, the twins graduated in 2017, I graduated in 2019 but none of us has a job yet we went to good schools. Admin me I think our step mom bwiches us.
