Prof. Venugopal Rao Soma Appointed Topical Editor of Applied Optics (Optica) In a prominent recognition of scientific leadership, Dr. Venugopal Rao Soma, Senior Professor in School of Physics and DIA-CoE (earlier known as ACRHEM), University of Hyderabad, has been appointed as a Topical Editor for Applied Optics, a leading journal published by Optica (formerly the Optical Society of America - OSA). He will be working along with the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Peter Andersen, and Deputy Editors. First established in 1962, Applied Optics is a premier, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to applications-centered research across optical technology, photonics, lasers, sensing, environmental optics, and information processing. A Legacy of Editorial Leadership Prof. Venugopal Rao brings a distinguished record of editorial service in high-impact international publishing: Past Editorial Service: Served for 6 years as Associate Editor for Optica’s flagship journal Optics Letters, and 10 years as Associate Editor for RSC Advances. Current Editorial Positions: Currently holds Associate Editor roles with Opto-Electronic Advances (Chinese Laser Press) and Frontiers in Photonics.
