The images of Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir showing him gleefully smiling as foreign detainees of the intercepted aid flotilla (packed with aid intended for Gaza) are roughly bound and humiliated - have prompted widespread condemnation from now UK, Canada and the EU. UK’s Yvette Cooper said: ‘This violates the most basic standards of respect and dignity in the way people should be treated’. The same Israeli minister has also been filmed several times with detained and shackled Palestinians as he humiliates them and subjects them to terrifying treatment - on camera.

The direction football discourse has taken really saddens me. Grew up watching Soccer Saturday. Every single one of them - even when you didn’t agree with the opinions - were sincere & genuine in what they said. Nowadays it’s just saying anything that garners clicks. Tired of it.

Israeli authorities say the explosion was a controlled detonation.
But controlled explosions require advance notification to surrounding areas. None was given.
And the blast was far too large for a standard sapper operation.
No reports of an attack yet. What is going on?

🇮🇱 UPDATE Israeli authorities have confirmed it was a controlled explosion (likely a police sapper team safely detonating suspicious ordnance, unexploded munitions, or demolition work). No indication of a new attack, missile, or terror incident.
