Ok, so this is cool. @span_io rolled out a local API for local control. I now can check if my Drive is charging. I use a Powerwall integration via NetZero to set my Powerwall reserve to 100% when I plug the car in. I don't want the car charging from Powerwall. Yay!

I know that AP speed drag races are fun, but maybe we should do power races? The CW9178I lists a max power draw of 47W. Mine sit around 17W. I know the USB represents 9W of that max, but that other 20W? Hmmm…

My dad (who was not an engineer) liked to say “Arguing with an engineer is like mud wrestling with a pig. After a few hours you realize the pig likes it.” He also gave me a sign that said “If we knew what we were doing it wouldn’t be called research.” I miss you dad.

@HypergeekWiFi I have a theory that sunlight is what degrades the mesh. I don't wear mine anywhere other than at my desk, but my desk *does* get some sunlight in the mornings. When the mesh sags, the metal bars get brutally uncomfortable on your head after about 15 minutes.

@HypergeekWiFi @CyberRacheal BUT isn't that dreadful?! If a hostile WiFi with its own DNS can serve up anything then just being nearby exposes you to any number of attacks?

Interviewer: You’re at a coffee shop. You connect to their "Free WiFi," but before you even log in, your phone already knows there’s a "Captive Portal" or the login page and pops it up automatically. How does your phone know it's trapped behind a login page before you even open a browser?🤔
