Ondo Finance
Ondo Finance@OndoFinance·
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Nathan Allman, Ondo's founder. Our hearts are with his family and loved ones. Nate’s brilliance, humility, and drive shaped every part of what Ondo is today. His belief in the power of technology to create a more open, accessible financial system lives on in everything we build. The impact he had on this industry, and on all of us personally, cannot be overstated. Nate also helped us build a durable organization with experienced leaders across all facets of the business. Ian De Bode, Ondo Finance’s longtime President, will serve as CEO. Ian has been leading our strategy, product, and day-to-day operations for over two years and has the full confidence of the leadership team. We will continue building what Nate started. That is the most meaningful way we know to honor him.

HIP-4 update. This one is big. Hyperliquid just removed the need for external oracles on prediction markets. The validator set itself is now the oracle. The same 24 validators that sign blocks every 70ms, secure $3B+ in deposits, and vote bridge withdrawals now deploy and settle prediction markets natively. Automated newsfeed software running as part of regular chain operations. Deployment and resolution through onchain validator vote. No Chainlink. No Pyth. No UMA. No third party. Closed circuit. Polymarket uses UMA. Kalshi is centralized. Hyperliquid just made real-world event resolution a native chain function. Hyperliquid.

Great men of history used to actually be men, now they're just investor grifters that use basic influencer tricks to sift off the authority of other grifters on a podcast alongside dubious sponsorships of products that don't work to then proclaim themselves as great men of history and authorities to be trusted. We used to have rabid minds like John McAfee, Hunter S Thompson, etc. I'm never trusting a man who doesn't occasionally drink. You don't want advice from the glorified midwit that has 9000 steps in his daily routine, you want advice from the coked out writer with porn on his TV shooting rabbits across his land while smoking cigarettes, pounding obscene amounts of caffeine and writing great novels and poetry. I also firmly believe that if Bartlett was white he would be called out for all the shady shit he's done but because he's half black he gets a pass. Shoot me. I'm not white. Go ahead. It would make my life easier too! Handle literally consumed so much booze while writing all of his great works that it would astound any "productivity" expert today. Arguably the 1700-1900s generations were far more intelligent and productive than anyone in our current generation is and their alcohol consumption was relentless and did not seem to harm their outputs. We now optimize for stale existences that our fitbits dictate for us instead of optimizing for creating greatness and an impact upon the ether so strong that we never die in the collective consciousness of humanity. Drink the wine. Sniff the tobacco. Puff the pipe. Eat the minge. Tickle the starfish. Bosh.

Steven Bartlett says a few glasses of wine ruined the next 3 days of his life “It's one of those areas where you don't understand the hidden cost until you really give it up for a while. I stopped drinking at 30 years old. I'm now 33. When I was 31, I thought, I'll have a drink again because now I could really A/B test it. I had a year of not drinking, decided to have a drink again” “It ruined three days of my life. I had a couple of glasses of wine, didn't get drunk. It ruined three days of my life because of the domino effect it caused” “I got worse sleep that night, and then because I got worse sleep that night, I ate more poorly the next day because my dopamine system or whatever, the cortisol system was all messed up. I podcasted worse. I didn't go to the gym that day or the day after because I felt really bad. I then slept worse, and I could track all of this on my Whoop”

meanwhile in Moldova and the Balkans nearly every flat has an air conditioner for the summer and the gdp per capita comparison is horrendous. It truly is astounding how northern euros refuse the AC as if it is the coming of Satan itself. One needs cold air to think and innovate. Heat enters the exterior, clouds the spirit, burdens the heart, and causes dampness in the triple burner.

One of my business school friends comes from a wealthy Swiss banking family and lives in the ritzy part of Geneva where the average house is in the tens-of-millions range. When I visit, I stay in his guest room and sweat profusely at night because, for all their wealth, these bozos can’t understand the unmatched pleasure that is a nice, cool room to sleep in at night. Bunch of uncultured rubes.

Do this in Singapore and by the time you go from Dhoby Gaut to fucking Yishun both of you are covered in heat rash, an inch layer of humid grime and sweat and on top of that every local auntie/uncle stares at you for even expressing an ounce of human love in public + by the time you bring her up to your grandma's HDB flat and start opening the door you realise it smells of your old grandfather who also is losing his memory and then by the time she's in the guest room you can barely hold it together and just start crying profusely and then she leaves in shock and says she's never dating another Lasalle graduate ever fucking again so fuck my fucking chungus sinkie life (not true story)

i went on a date with a classmate once. three years of sitting in the same room without acknowledging each other, then one group project and we figured out pretty fast that we liked each other we walked home from the 4ème arrondissement that night, more or less following ligne 1 the whole way. it was early june and the city was still warm at midnight. every time we reached a metro station we'd say "let's walk to the next one". it took us two hours to get home, stopping every few minutes to make out i don't think this story works in any other city or maybe it does in like Rome but i've never been to Rome
