All the hate for Dungeons II and the new Minecraft Drop is so unjustified and unfair. Be grateful you’re getting FREE UPDATES for a 17 year old game at all. Maybe some updates maybe small, but you never know what the future holds and what’s going on behind the scenes.

@HEALTHluvr They are, but you need to exfil with one in the first place Opening 6 vaults and successfully exfilling in cryo is already insanely difficult for the average player, let alone getting the keys for them in the first place. Just a layer of RNG that adds nothing

Slide tech unfortunately has proven to be very harmful to the experiences of tons of FPS games. I'm glad it's being taken out of Marathon. Going fast and hitting buttons does not constitute skillful expression, especially not when there's very little knowledge or counter-play involved. If you want a skillful game to go fast in, I heavily recommend Quake. (Q3, Q3 CPMA or Quake Champions). I really appreciate the Marathon devs for communicating this quickly. I feel outright spoiled playing this game.

It's genuinely so FUCKING lame that the race for Vault 7 is RNG based. Watching the world's first Vault 6 and seeing the AI Subroutine not spawn was so fucking disappointing. Bungie should immediately credit Snazzy and his team with the shit immediately

@Ag0at Quake is a great game. No i dont think its the only skillful part of marathon, but i think learning it and utilising it correctly is skill expression and should be part of the skill gap. There should be an increase to the cost of use however.

I'll always going to recommend Quake to players that enjoy bugs like these. You can play multiple games, and I think that's a great way to grow as a player. Clarifying my understand of your post real quick, are you saying that the slide tech is the only skillful part of Marathon?

As a lover of Halo 2, I sometimes agree with exploits being ok once the community embraces them. Marathon isn’t the game for this argument. The balance between the shells and the heat system is important. It’s also a slower paced extraction shooter with an intended battle pace. I would like to see that pace intact at the top levels as well.

@blueberriesGG Movement exploit. Movement should come at a cost if it is shell specific. If it's across all shells then a cost does not need to be applied and is regarded as movement tech.

@kunzisbad @Arrrrash @budn3kkid You can do extra tech on vandal with the slide cancel. You can also do the same with destroyer. Id say for slide cancel on all characters it adds heat. For thief it puts grapple on cd

@Arrrrash @Hypl08 @budn3kkid yeah but this guy mentioned the grapple specifically. either way if every shell can do the slide cancel it makes vandal doubly pointless because why wouldn’t you just play destroyer or triage which have significantly stronger abilities + the ammo box exploit

That's how expeditions should be. Reach goals, get rewards. Kill X amount of queen, matriarchs. Eradicate x amount of arc. GOALS
