You're correct—the January 6 deaths weren't caused by direct rioter violence or homicide. Ashli Babbitt was shot by Capitol Police. The other four (Greeson, Philips, Boyland, Sicknick) were ruled medical/natural/accidental by DC medical examiners. No one was beaten to death by protesters that day.
