@RidwanuLlah I thought he deliberately kicked the ball out to relive pressure until I saw Alfa Apari at the other end😂

@Real1_balogun @q_mesioye I watched the best saves nomination not quite long, and one thing I noticed is England is stacked in that department. Ramsdale needed that game time in order to display Pickford but football has other plans for him.

With the benefit of hindsight, did Aaron Ramsdale make the right move when he left Arsenal? Yes, I’ll say. He wasn’t playing. Raya is a better goalkeeper. But does every decision he’s taken after that make sense? Hard to call. Joining Southampton wasn’t the best move. It was he accepting that’s the level he could best operate at. For a goalkeeper many thought should be England’s first choice at the time, and was knocking on those doors constantly, I thought he could have had a stronger shout for a higher level. But football is very unpredictable. Sometimes you’re hot and sometimes you’re not. He also lost his shirt at a tricky time. Many teams were settled in that area already. Now, he’s out of England places. James Trafford, who’s probably in a similar situation as he was, is preferred to him for The Three Lions. He joined Newcastle to be cover for Nick Pope. Both goalkeepers haven’t made the World Cup squad. Ramsdale did well when he played this season, but that’s it. What move will he make next? Definitely not going to stay on as number 2 at Newcastle? Can he displace Pope to become number 1? That’s not impossible considering that he’s a decent shot stopper who’s also comfortable with the ball at his feet. He has a good relationship with Howe too. Howe has said his price tag will determine his next move. He’s a bubbly, brilliant personality who was caught in the middle of the desire and need for progression. A victim of the devilry of details. Not a single person will be right to complain about that Raya signing considering how it’s panned out. The sport is just crazy.

We are real people. We are always willing to give without taking but don’t ever think we don’t deserve to take because we give so freely. When you’re sharing, remember who gave when receiving was important

This is what I was exposing here about Spanish managers. They have this authority and aura about them, even as players. Fabregas is doing wonders with Como
TobyWrites@tobyasky

Semenyo said in a recent podcast that when Iraola first arrived at Bournemouth, they were training everyday, Monday to Sunday. He has never seen anything like that in his football career. Iraola was clear on his demands, and this is one thing about Spanish managers, you see what Luis Enrique is doing with PSG and you understand your requirement as a player. If you don’t do it, you’ll sit on the bench. Even the BDOR holder said this in a recent interview. See the amount of Spanish managers doing well at the moment (Emery, Pep, Iraola, Arteta, Luis Enrique, etc), this tells you about their pragmatic nature more than anything. This is not even limited to managers, even Spanish players. Jamie Carragher once told a story of when Xabi Alonso arrived at Liverpool, he said Alonso was telling them what to do😂, he was like who tf does this guy think he is😂😂 When Thierry Henry arrived at Barcelona, he was already the biggest player in the history of Arsenal, but he told a story of how Xavi and the likes use to speak to him, and he was willing to learn despite his CV from Arsenal. If you also watch the recent Liverpool podcast, this same thing is seen in how Benitez handled the players. Steven Gerrard wanted to leave the club😂 It’s like Rafa did not know who he was. He was telling Steven Gerrard how to play, a big player already, the details, “you have to run a yard more”, “you have to hit the ball one centimetre wider”, bla bla bla Personal experience also, I’ve played a bit in the lower levels in Spain, and I tell you for free that this is their nature even in the 4th or 5th tier. They’re clear on what they want and very demanding.

I generated this image to make you understand my point better. Even though Man City finished second on the English Premier League table and Manchester United finished third, Man City are in a mournful sadness while Man United are celebrating. This is the philosophical condition of all human ambition. Our joy and suffering are not measured in absolute position, but in distance from where we thought we would be.

Former #ManCity staff member on the 2018 Premier League title win: “Even though Pep wanted all these records we’d still go out. He’d be like ‘Right, Sunday, we’ve got a game but Monday, Tuesday we’ll go out’. It was every week. By the time we got to the actual parade my missus was like: ‘You can’t go out again, it’s getting beyond a joke! You’re out all the time.’ I’m like: ‘But Pep’s asking me to’. "Anyway, we’re in the canteen having a few beers before we got on the parade bus and Pep says ‘Are you out tonight?’ I say: ‘I can’t. I think I’ll be left homeless if I go.’ So Pep goes: ‘Well, stay at my apartment if you want.’ 'I can’t Pep, it’s my missus.’ ‘You want me to ring her? Come on, ring your missus.’ "Everyone was around us. My missus answered. ‘Hello, this is Pep.’ She says: ‘Who?’ ‘It’s Pep Guardiola.’ She’s gone: ‘All right, yeah, go on?’ ‘Listen, I know we’ve been out a lot recently but we’ve just won the Premier League. I’ll have him home by 2AM.’ My missus just replies, ‘One’ and hits the red button. Everyone’s there howling..." The real Pep Guardiola: Untold stories from a decade with City’s Pied Piper. The first time you take Philosophy and you discover there's a method to how to think and how to learn about the world, you unlock something different about the human mind. Nigerians never experienced this and it's something that needs to be remedied.

Most of us think with our feelings. Rational or logical thinking, scientific method, deductive reasoning is not a natural thing. It is learned behavior. And most of us in Nigerian education are not learning it. It's a huge problem.
