Here are 10 takeaways on IBC that you should know: 1️⃣ IBC is the TCP/IP of the blockchain world 2️⃣ IBC handles more edge cases and has more flexibility than alternatives and L2s 3️⃣ Implementing IBC gives you so much more than narrow protocol-specific solutions 4️⃣ There are more than 17 teams contributing to the core repo, vs a single team 5️⃣ Connecting @solana to @cosmos or @avax to @cosmos via IBC isn’t just about the cosmos connection. It’s also about connecting @solana to @avax via IBC. 6️⃣ IBC can abstract away multiple bridges and complicated flows for users, a la IBC.fun. 7️⃣ This saves the need to write individual adaptors. 8️⃣ IBC is not extractive, taking fees for everything. This is unlike other interoperability protocols that are similar to AOL Online - monitoring and monetizing every byte you consumed 9️⃣ IBC abstracts over security models and between protocols, compared to how the internet works across copper and fiber equally well 🔟 It’s undeniable that the future is interchain, but this open standard is at odds with most teams’ profit generating mechanism (taking fees for bridging). IBC teams need to better coordinate and educate users, so that they demand IBC.
